Vertical Grow 400 Watt Hps. Blueberry Dutch Passion

inbudwetrust: SORRY i skipped many pages of reading......is this 400 watt bulb a vertical bulb? or just using it this way? i had some before mounted this way and got slammed because i was waisting light because of the bulbs shape

its a 400 watt blub just removed the bat wing and put it verticle.

Just wondering if you noticed if verticle tends to mature the plant all at once rather than top down as in horizontial?

So do the buds ripen all together?

hey bud how close can the plants get tothe light with out being burned? I'm also going vertical my next round about 3 weeks, thinking of a 1000 and 600 ina 4foot cool tube, maybe 20 or so plants, rooms is 5x8 what cha think

i have a set up juss like that well not juss like not fill with as many plants yet got 6 in 9 rooting but my q is do u have to rotate alot and also any clone tips plz new to cloning had 9 nice grows from seed clones i juss took seem to be wilting a lot

Those pics look Awsome.. Do you use CO2??? If not, I would start as soon as flowering starts.. It will increase your yield 10 fold...
I would also try bending the plants .. Such as tying the top to the bottom loosely as to not stress the plants too much, the opposite way the light is .. This will allow the bottom branches to Get Much more light, producing more flowers and Bigger Buds..
Awsome Job though.. I also use 400 watt bulbs. I have about 8 plants per light though..

This depends on if you have a reflector with a glass cover or not.. If there is a plate of glass between the light and the plant then the light can be within 6 inches of the top.. If there is NO glass then I would NOT set the light any closer than 12 inches otherwise it will burn the tops... Not Good

?? is that the same for all strains? because i got a early purple kush off reeferman thats developing purple trichs , and my 2 bb kushes have a miniscule amount of purple 2.

My Bubba Kush's have a little purple to them also.

been there done that , my first grow i stocked up on rockwool cubes because all the videos i saw ppl were using them(FAIL) DO NOT USE ROCKWOOL UNLESS U HAVE A HYDROPONIC OR A DRIP SETUP , the r wool dries out to fast.







germinate your seeds in 2 bottle lids front to front (so it creates a little box almost) , put ur papertowel in , water it till the waterlevel is just at the papertowel , set it up behind your xbox or on your comp vent fan and ull germ in 1-3 days.

i have expensive ass seeds and thats how i germ , works every time.

oh thx for telling me man , and 'FYI' wen ur kushes are 5 inches tall , re pot em cuz kush plants have the most roots ive ever seen from weed plants lol

how big of pots do you use for this method? I think at one point you said you were only using gallon size? Is that right?
I grow vertical and have been for a long time and love your plan on harvest every 15 days.. that is what I am eventually trying to accomplish..but right now I got 2 HUGE mama's in there (gf and mk ultra) and 3 of of mama MK's offspring...after I havest the huge mama's I have a bunch of mk's and gf's in veg. and 2 strawberry cough's still yet determined by sex..they look female-ish, and I am assuming they are by their characteristics but you never ever know.. I will clone them too and have a constant harvest of all three varieties over time and I think you just may have the best idea I have found on the net..
not many people doing vertical hps with 400w..everyone is like reflector this, reflector that...which is great if you can use multiple lights but I think one 400 is fine especially with this grow method.. so how big are the pots you use?

Inbudwetrust is your room 4ft by 4ft? dude i had no idea such a thing as vertical grow existed you opend my mind up to it,its siick man. trying to figure out the setup a bit, soo you got the hps dropped down /no reflecter and step ups and plants on left and right? or all the way around? check my pic out is that what you got going on roughly?

This was all good reading. It's been months since last post but I'm looking for help in vert 400w hps. Has the white china cap reflector. Would it be better without it in a 5x4 foot area with no other lights currently with 6 or so various size plants on 12/12..... So reflector or no???? Help me please Lol Thanks in advance guys

whats up everyone, hope everyone is doing well, I have moved since this grow, its funny to look back on all my rookie mistakes. If anyone has any questions fire them up. I would say use the reflector and weave the plant through a screen of some sort to create a big canopy, then flower under the 400 with the reflector.
As far as growing, I would go with DWC if I were you, its the most effecient in my opinion. Peace

Yea dude you could do the step up, I figured I got more dense nugs by doing it with the reflector above, but I as able to get a way bigger yield with the step up method and a vertical grow, the nugs werent as dense but I got more. I would space the plants every 10 inches on the floor under the light, then do a step at the perimeter of the grow about 10 inches high plant on that step as well, every 10 or so inches, then just fit a few little ones here and there where you have room.

This setup works but in some situations you cant keep all that heat in the room. Not to mention the air cooling helps the bulb last longer. Plants look great.
