Verify Magnesium Deficiency

I think I have a Magnesium deficiency. It has showed up on a few plants. All of the plants are in 1/2 gallon pots with used soil accept for one. 11 days ago I up-potted one to a no till 10 gallon smart pot. Looking at the top of the plant it looks like it might be stopping but not sure yet. It also has some twisting in the leafs.
I use tap water that is around 7.14 ph and 190 ppm. When I amended my soil I did not use any Dolomite Lime. Looking at what I did amend with, I did not add anything for Magnesium. I did add some epsom to my last watering to see if there is any change.

What you say? Does it look like Mag Def??

I have that chart along with many many others. I stopped looking at cannabis specific stuff and started reading about plants in general. I find there are to many myths and folklore on the forums.
Plant issues are plant issues and they tend to show the same signs for stress. Not having to read through all of the wrong info that is mixed into the good info is relaxing.

All the signs are pretty much the same on all plants. Just how you remedy them varies depending species of plant.

Very true!

I believe my issue will resolve itself after up-potting.. I hope
I will continue to watch them and add epsom to the water here and there for a boost along with a foilar feed once in a while. I will be up-potting them soon enough.

I have some soil that I added dolomite lime to that can sit for a few months for the next clones and seeds as I wont need to cut any clones for a bit.

What is your thoughts on hard water? My water builds up calcium on everything! I have read a few articles on how excess calcium can lead to a mag def but haven't really read enough on it.

You don't want hard water

Too much Calcium can cause all kinds of lock outs of magneium, potassium, iron, zinc, copper, molybdenum, phos , and more.

That is what I am understanding! I am going to budget an RO filter. Prior to moving here I did not have these issues. The water was not as hard at the old house. When we purchased this house there was a water softener that was un-plugged. Everything has calcium buildup on it! I can foilar feed my plants and there is calcium left on the leafs. It is terrible. I cleaned the water softener and got it going so we no longer have the build up on everything but I dare not use the water for my plants. I installed a spigot so I can still get un-softened water for my plants. I am going to run a line to my rooms and install the RO filter there. I figured I can dilute the RO with some tap so I have some PPM.
I read that the high calcium in my water would cause mag lockout. I have started adding epsom in the hopes of off setting the issue until I up-pot into some good soil. It's time to roll some $ back into the process.

Be careful. Too much mag can lockout calcium too.

Anyway look up growers house. They have the best deals on RO systems.

I like the hydro logic 200gpd 5 stage filter. With add on uvc light and flow reducer it's around $375 total.

That is sweet! I added 1/8 tsp epsom to 6 cups water for the 1/2 gal pots. Probably to much!
