Veraition in seeds

I hate growing from seeds due to the time and veriation in them, it always seems to promis so much but always falls short and I go back to the clones that everyone else has .

Anyway I got a few different beens and took cuts of everyone before I switched , the grow itself was a disaster , out of 20 seeds I only got about 12 come up I had original Amnesia by Dinafem og kush by dinafem and Dinachem then had some Cali connections blackwater , I got 2 ami but as he best one it was so far behind when I switched I never got a clone , I had two blackwaters one was a huge yielder but no smell or resin production the other was a very nice plant but a bitch to get cuts of the og and the dinachem all the same no smell no high.

However I think that a lot of it was down to grow as I kept cuts of most and my pal is running them and they all look a lot Better ,

The og is looking and smelling dank but the yield is not looking like it is going to be good yet in the other grow this was a good sized plant with fat head buds , the dinachem is growing the same but may smell a bit better as is the big blackwater pheno

The good blackwater is looking even better but still not looking g8 in the yeild front.

The am Managed to have kept is looking very good but I had to take it down early on my last grow it had the smell but the bud quality was terrible brown and very hairy no visible thc .

I now have to wait until this grow is down to see if here any keepers and I hate retaining and paying to keep plants to see if there worth keeping but I can't bare the thought of losing something that would have took me the best part of 8 months to get . So anyway I have a 1 og kush 1 dinachem 2 different blackwater phenos and 1 oginal am that I am waitng on.

Has anyone else experienced variation of there clones down to environment grow technic etc ? Others it looks like I backnto the boring cheese clones that everyone else has and think I will have to run just a few beans with each grow to try and find a keeper without relying on the hole grow

Dude, you need spell check.

Don't hold your breath on positive results from Dinachem. If you are sticking with Dinafem seeds try Blue Widow (great taste) or Industrial Plant (higher potency) I had problems with Blackwater, some hermaphrodite and no keepers. I haven't done Cali Connection for several years.

Some seed providers are more consistent than others.

Some serious growers intentionally favor "pollen chuckers" like Subcool at TGA Genetics because of the wide variation of F1 crosses and ability to find that one plant that is exceptional. Same folks seem to favor Regular rather than Feminized seed.

Just a couple of examples based on personal experience. I've had consistent good results, low variation from Humboldt Seeds Green Crack and Bubba Kush, or Connoisseur Genetics Seeds Rainbow Jones.

Clones are the most consistent if you can find a disease free source.

Of course, even a great clone grown in poor conditions will not live up to potential, so yes, there is variation.

bigskymtnguy: for your input mate, this is the first time i have run seeds for years , funny how you mention tag and humboldt as there the two seed banks i am looking to order from i like the quaqle and agent orange from TGA and amhurst soar diesel and blue dream form humboldt.

i have been intrigued by green crack what was you take on is it as fast as it has been qouted ?

Green Crack has been a reliable producer, high yield but not the highest. Sativa-ish high, finishes for me in about 8-9 weeks. No mold or bugs. Seeds are very viable, and germinate at almost 100%. Not my favorite but it is worth finding a keeper and growing out for a few cycles.

Order some Dynasty seeds or Bodhi seeds, quit playing the seed lottery with inferior breeders.

its my belief your negative experiences listed here are 100% the fault of your grow environment, including grower habits.
I've grown all those strains you mentioned and they were all great smellers, stoners, yielders and easy as hell to grow with no issues. with results all over the map in your room I suggest you should consider you may be dealing with genotypes as well.
