venus fly trap

this may be a crazee idea but has anyone put a venus fly trap plant in their grow room as pest control ?

That would be pretty sick for flying bugs and anything that lands in its mouth is surely eaten. I agree that it couldnt hurt unless they give off some sort of chemical vapor but I dont think they do.

it would be cool if you could cross a venus fly trap with some really good weed.......then it could handle its own pest control......................yeah i'm high

ive used them before to help with fruitflies put 2 small ones in kitchen and it really worked well. They are cool plants i just have a hard time keeping them around very long. So i am sure it would work really well in a grow room

It might be effective for flies, though i'm not sure how much of a problem flies are when it comes to eating plants. Plus venus fly traps aren't as active as tv/cartoons make them appear. They don't need to feed too often and (depending on how sealed your grow room is) you might have trouble getting the plant to survive without hand feeding it.
