Hey RIU I just bought a 12k portable AC, anyways im wondering does this leak smells outside if I vent it outside?

It is a grow room AC, it has 2 hoses, 1 intake, one output of hot air and then the cool air, so does it leak alot of smell

Well, trying this day again, yesterday was the first attempt so it had to "catch up" to the heat, today-i turned it on 30 minutes ahead of lights, seems to help-I made a hole to vent to my hallway problem is now the hallway gets really hot, could a bowl with a 5 gallon frozen each day possibly help (blow exhaust over cold frozen water jug)?

i have never knew of anyone that was very happy with this type of ac unit.

May be inefficient, but without a window or $$ for a minisplit, it is the only viable option. I have a place to exhaust, keeps the hoods at 77-78 where it is usually 95+

Can you suggest something more efficient at cooling rooms for the price range that will have the same cooling performance (15 degrees would be nice.) in a 5x10 room?

Would be appreciated, then I can use the a/c to cool my my house! :bigjoint:

there isnt a more efficient way thats not alot more money.

i find new portables at home depot work far better than grow room specific ones tho

Have any of you guys built a box around a window AC and then vent its exhaust out?
Thought I saw a thread a while back but i cant find it.
I was gonna buy a portable AC but everyone says they are really inefficient .
no money for a mini-split at the moment.

I only have $200 to spend on an AC for now. In a month or so Ill be ready for an upgrade. Right now Im flowering in 2 separate rooms when the lights are on to keep the temps down. But it a pain moving 4ft plants around twice everyday. And Im running outa space in my veg roomI have a window but im trying to stay stealth. Might jus through a window ac in for a month since the room is on the side of the house I have a 6ft tall fence, no neighbors.... Man ill be happy when I can pretty much set it and forget it!
my temp right now are around 77 with 3k air cooled lights and the door open.
I have also thought about adding another ac duct from the air handler to my flower room.
That might be my best bet for the moment.

I Just bought one of those little 9000btu LGs and they use the 4 inch ducting that you can exhaust out the window or cut a hole in your wall and vent. I heard pretty good things about these ones but ideally you would want a mini split if you want to run c02 I believe.

Edit: btw I spent 300.00
