Venting into soot hatch?

Hi all,
i am planning on growing in my garage. We have a log burner and the soot hatch is located in the garage. It is an ideal place to vent m grow. DOes anybody know if this is ok? It will all be filtered but i am just worried that it could cause backpressure like with gas fire flies etc.
Has anybody else every done anything like this with a log burner?

only thing youd have to worry about is FLIR.

to help avoid backpressure install the grow vent near the outlet of the burner's exhuast. prefereably with an angled diffuser so the air blows up and out not directly into the flue.

When you look into the soot hatch you can see the top of the stove exhaust so it will be venting very close.bi was also going to add a plate so the air from the vent hits it and is forced up the chimeny. I think we are thinking along the same lines so i will set about it. I will try and get some pics up at some point.

I will suggest strongly you consider anything but a chimney or stove pipe if your stove or fireplace is actually used. Chimney (or stovepipe) fires require a literal bomb designed to extinguish by detonation that temporarily uses all oxygen and thus deprive the fire of it. You don't see kits for doing things like this for a reason. But if you persist and end up injured please know it will not be in vain. The ER personnel love these stories. Some are hard to keep a straight face while listening to.

This is why i posted my idea, to work out the pro's and con's. To see if it is possible. Thanks for your advice. The other option is venting out of a top opening window at the back of the house. Obviously a bit more risky security wise. The chimeny idea would of been ideal really. I just need to make sure that if it is possible, i do it safely.

It is alog burning stove and i will be sweeping the chimeny as often as needed to ensure there are no problems. That is iff i go this way of course.
