How do i determine the size of my inline fans/carbon filters to get? is this based on how big the room size is or lights? Im guessing its the room size. Is there an efficient time i should have new air in and old air out?

Hey watsupbud,

Fans are rated by cfm(cubic feet per minute)

Get the volume of your room in cubic feet and find a cfm that will clear the room once every 3-5 minutes and that's the cfm I would not go below.

The more times you can vent the room the better

Hope that made sense :eyesmoke:

you are right
it's based on room size
cfm - cubic feet per minute
i've heard everything from 1 time per 5 minutes to 3 times per minute your fan should clear the room
i think i would be satisfied with a fan clearing my room evry minute or so
i'd say that if you have good AC in your home, you'd need less and if you don't you'll have more
at this point, starting over, i'd say get an 8inch whether you need it or not - set the controller lower and grow into it as you can.

The hottest part of the day is when i would keep fan frequency the highest,it will help keep temps lower.Or if u have an AC unit then there wont need to be much concern for the fan other than proper ventilation.
