Ventilation Questions

OK guys, so I will be using a SecretJardin Darkroom grow tent that measures 46 x 46 x 78 inches. I will be growing four plants but I still haven't decided whether or not I will be using one 600w (MH/HPS combo) or two 400watt bulbs. No matter what route I choose, I still have questions about ventilation. Here is the kit I will be getting:

My tent has four different (6" circumference I believe) "socks" for intake and outtake fans, but my questions is will I need to use all four? I was planning on having one intake fan coming in from the bottom, then one outtake fan connected to my cool tube pushing hot air out at the top of my tent. Will this be enough ventilation for a 600w bulb, or possibly two 400w bulbs?

Also, I'm pretty sure one of the fans has to be more powerful in order to not make a vacuum in my tent, but I am not 100% sure which one has to be stronger. Thanks guys

You really dont need an intake fan. Are you not using a carbon filter?

The correct setup would be as follows: hanging from the top of your tent is your carbon filter. Then ducting from your carbon filter to your cool tube. Then ducting from your cool tube ( opposite end naturally ) through one of the top 6" openings and attaching to an inline fan. Then ducting from the inline fan to wherever you are exhausting your air ( attic/exterior/etc etc ). You can always put a small intake fan if you wish but the above setup will draw air into your tent through the screened openings. I would highly suggest not putting the inline fan inside the tent. If exhausting into your attic, hang your inline fan from the rafters using bungee cords to minimize vibrations,

a lot of this has to do with how hot it gets where you are, but i'd just run two 4" or 6" fans (I like the vortex), they don't need to be different strengths, you WANT a vacuum in your tent, that's how you get co2 and O2. I'd go with a solo 600w, but for better nugs but more heat, do a 400w MH, and a 400w hps, the mixed spectrums will get you much better nugs. You may have an issue with heat with the two lamps though.

in that amount of room, with two lamps, i'd go with two fans, in my opinion. One 600w can be cooled plenty by a single 6" inline fan, all depends on how hot it is though.

I will be using a carbon filter, but I don't understand what you mean by not needing an inline fan..how will air get into my tent through the screened openings?

The inline fan will be drawing air through the carbon filter/ducting/cool tube/ducting/etc etc. Where is that air coming from? It's being sucked into your tent through the screened openings from outside your tent,

So it will look like this (------- represents ducting)

CARBON FILTER-------COOL TUBE-----INLINE FAN------6" SOCK (outside of tent)

Again, I would locate my inline fan OUTSIDE of the tent, not inside the tent, if at all possible.

Why outside? Just curious thanks for your reply

1 6inch exhaust fan is more than enough

I have mine outside the tent. I Hang the filter inside the tent and use jubilee clips to connect the ducting from the filter to the fan which I hang using hooks drilled to ceiling and string. I would also invest in silencer if noise is an issue

A fan has a motor. Motors cause heat. A fan inside your tent causes heat inside your tent. Most people don't need any extra heat inside their tent than what is given off from lights and a few small recirc fans. Hence the inline fan being located outside your tent. ( I earlier used the example of the inline fan being hung in the attic suspended from the rafters using bungee cords. )
