I have thought of that before, but ruled it out. The plants use CO2 and produce O2. If you keep recycling the air, you will run out of CO2. So unless you want to invest some major $$ in a CO2 system, use a fresh air intake
I went to home depot today and bought two in duct 6'' fans in hopes of connecting them together and pulling air through a 6'' carbon filter. Not sure if it's gonna work, but I figured two is better than one and the sound noise from the more expensives inlines from the hydro store makes me nervous. I'll repost once I connect everything and get it working. They're 250 CFM each so together I'm hoping they'll pull out enough air in my 5x4x8 flowering room to avoid heat/odor problems. Any advice or comments would be helpful; I'm a newbie to the site.ok.thanks for the help
hey duke, do you think if i dont have an intake fan and i just leave the bottom flap open will the odor escape through there?5x4x8 = 160 cf
250+250 = 500 cfm
So with no interference whatsoever, you could change the air in the room 3 time sper minute. At best.
Add turns in the ductwork or a carbon filter, and you will only be able to change the air in the room once a minute, at best.
Good luck, let us now how it turns out. I do not have much faith in axial in line duct booster fans.
These duct booster WILL NOT work like inline blowers. I tried one for a 400 watt closed loop cooling system. it sucked.im looking at this kind. will it work?
If you are pushing through a carbon filter, you need to stop looking at these shitty axial type fans. PC, duct booster, and this latest pile of trash fan are not going to be able to push through any sort of restriction. There is not a cheaper alternative to the impeller type fans already suggested. Do it right the first time or it will end up being a costly headache.what do you guys think about this? will it work? it says 230 cfm...

I think EBAY is cool for grow equipment if its light weight relatively. Having hoods and big filters shipped is real costly.yea i dont wanna waste my money thats why i asked.what about these?
