Vegging with flouros only

Hello, I guess that maybe the best thing to do is ask short specific questions so here goes.

What are everyone's thoughts on vegging with t-5's only? What are the pro's / con's vs mh.

Mainly I am concerned about the burden on the circuit.

Flower will be under hps (questions there too.)

you will be fine with flouros during veg....i used them dring an entire grow and had decent results. if your going to switch to hps during flower you will be fine

I do the same thing. Veg with 2 t-5's and flower with hps. Perfect combo.

whats the benifit of vegging with T5's? right now im vegging and flowering with a 150w hps. Would it be better to veg with some floros?

I use a 4ft t5 for the clones and the veg and all 12/12 with a 400w hps. Great combo. Make sure you got the 6500k tubes in the t5

the only advantage to using flouros during veg is that it contains light in the blue side of the spectrum which replicates the long days of summer. hps is more toward the red side of the spectrum which replicates the short days of autumn

the t5s have the most pure color light, I have had good luck vegging under a 4foot 8 tube 6500 K light , 432 watts. Less heat and fantastic growth I use a 600 hps for flower, after reading some I'd like to try to flower with a combo of floros

You can use the T5's for vegging, flowering.. all the way through harvest, if you want to. I use 4 6500k & 4 3000k 24 watt bulbs in a 2 ft. fixture.

Not as dense as hps and may take a little longer to mature, but whatever makes you satisfied works. Doesn't it?

Thanks for all the input. Knally, beautiful plants. I was looking at that light last night on cheap hydro. I read somewhere on one of these threads (i think) that tests showed faster growth up to 3 weeks with t-5s than with hps, after that i guess the canopy gets thick??? My question now is, how long do you guys veg for? I've got some chocolope, strawberry cough and alaskan ice beans coming. Probably do just one strain at a time to pick the best phenos out of each for mothers. thinking that I'll have to lst the chocolope some because of the height.

my first grow i vegged for 28 days...then flowered with the hps. Then I picked the 2 best females out and put back into veg for another 21 days took 4 clones and put them back into flower. Here is a pic of the 2 indaca bag seed ladies I veged for total of 49 days
