Question: I want to veg under T5's and develope roots but, keep the plants short. What do I do to accomplish this the best without topping or cutting in any way ? Do I keep the light close or far away ?

keep the lights an inch or two away. You can also LST your plant. I drill holes around the top of my plant and tie it to the sides to make it circle the pot. Keeps the plants low and bushy, I am using t8's all the way through.

Yeah !! We should start a T5 appreciation society.... I love mine too. I bought the 4ft lightwave unit and was so impressed that Ive now purchased 4 T8 (ex shop lights) from ebay :-)

I use my t5's for vegging exclusively, i have a 1000 watt flower cab that keeps the power company grinning, SO i definitely recommend using t5's for veg to cut the power bill back. You don't need crazy lumage in veg anyways...
