vegging question

Hi guys, I am a newbie and I was just wondering about vegging, great website by the way. I have a wardrobe that's 2.4 ft x 1.5 ft x 3.4 ft that's painted white inside. I also have a 2 x 55w CFL cool tube lights that fit nicely inside they are about 2-3 inches from each side of the room when extended. I am also thinking about removing the 2 doors and replacing them with mylar sheeting and using it as a door instead.

Just wondering would this be ok for vegging and what else would I have to put in there as well?

I would totally keep the doors

Also I would consider getting like 2x as many clfs as you current have.... for flowering that is, those 2 should be able to veg aight though.

Cheers guys, thanks for replying, it means a lot to me. this will be my first time at this and I don't want to mess it up. If my babies survive the vegging process I am gonna transfer them(around 3 1/2 weeks old) into a 4ft x 4ft x 7ft grow tent (White PVC) with a 600w HPS lamp.

I am just wondering would the plants be able to take the pressure of the heat from the 600w HPS after coming from a room of just 2 x 55w? I will be getting all the proper suitable fan equipment that's needed.

Light intensity is easily adjusted by lamp height. You just start high and lower slowly.

I'm taking a guess here that you have some experience of gardening (outside). I've never heard of a white PVC tent. Where's it from? You need it to be light-tight for flowering (the 12 hours of dark are as important, if not more than the 12 of light)

Hi cues, thanks for the reply. I know very little about gardening. I am a novice. The tent is some kind of plastic (like the inside of a cool bag) the outside is black (it's kind of like heavy duty luggage zipper bag material)and when it's zipped up no light can get out.

You might think about making some sort of frame structure inside for your lights, fans, etc. that you may want to hang or mount later on, it will be easier now than doing after tent is full of plants.

Hi imchucky, cheers for the advice. what size of fan would you recommend that I put in the wardrobe for vegging and at what temp would I need to keep it at (ov lights will be running 24/7) and would you recommend flushing for the first time before i put them into the room with the 600w?

Does it smell all the way through the cycle even while it's vegging?
I was only planing on using the intake/outtake fans during flowering stages .
I was planing on using an office style fan for the vegging mode only (and of course full time while flowering as well).
What kind of temp and humidity is good for vegging?

For temps I would say try to keep lights on temp around 72-78 the more stable and consistant you can keep it the better.... if you can keep it the same all the through lights on and off just a stable like 75 that would be the optimal but its ok for it to get cool at night even into the upper 50's lower 60's but I would really try to stick between 65-85 as far as a complete range. Humidity 40-50% humidity for veg.... lower like 25-30% in flower if you can........

Also intake and exhaust are required at all time no matter a micro grow, or a fullsized warehouse!!! Its the fresh air exchange that provides the plants the co2 they require and allow the stale air out..... this is where alot of growers run into problems, slow growth, heat issues and ultimately can end up in plant death. Think about intake and exhaust same as if we locked you in a closet or a box with no fans or air coming or going... eventually you would run out of air.... or be hurting pretty bad if the only fresh air you got is when someone is peaking in on you once and while.

Some strains start to smell lightly in preflower/late veg some don't..... some I have run can go all the through flower and never smell like anything really others can be smells down the block.

U mentioned co2, is it true that a candle placed in a pint tumbler or a very long vase and lit in a grow room spreads co2,Has anyone ever tried it before? I read it off another website.

I would guess that soot would block the stomata (leaf pores). I wouldn't go there until you have the basics right.
