Veg to Flower Question

i have a nice little 3 ft plant that is currently on 20 on and 4 hours off. i was going to gradually take off a couple of hours of light every week but i dont feel like waiting for that anymore. can i just switch it to 12 and 12 from where it is now?

Yes, in fact I think it's better to go 12/12 all of a sudden so the plant kind of gets shocked into flower.

Just make sure the dawn time stays the same as your current dawn. sunrise time is important, from what I've read

Now I heard an exspurt on here the other day say to give them 36 hrs of dark before switching them to flower on the 12-12 cycle. Supposed to put them in high gear to start making bud quickly. Sounded like a good plan to me. Thats how I am going to do it henceforth anyway. I just can't resist exspurt advice.

thats what ive done for a couple years period of darkness i did just 24 hours of darkness tho and yet bud produces faster then when i went 12/12

Yeah or just extend your 4 hours dark to 12 hours and start the first 12 hour cycle. If your plant is 3ft tall it should have shown sex by now, no need to shock flowering. If its buds quick, it buds quick. Mostly its genetics and making sure you're supplying the plants demands.

wow thanks for all the info guys. i think im gonna try putting it in 24hr darkness before i switch it 12/12. i just hope it buds some delicious nugs.
