Vapor or not to vapor that is the question

:hump:Ok so everywhere you go now everyone is raving about the vaporiziors that can be used to smoke from and, everytime i go to the local head shop the guy keeps trying to talk me into getting one. Well i have been smoking blunts, joints, bongs and bowls since i was fifteen why switch now? Will someone who has made the change explain the difference to me please. And some pics of yours and around how much i should spend would be great

The only vaporizer I've tried has been a friends Vapobrothers. Used to see it at a couple different head shops from 150-200 dollars. I have to admit, at first I didn't care for the idea of inhaling vapor...but holy shit it really does get you ripped haha. The thing I like about it is that, for me anyway, a bowl lasts me longer in the vap and keeps me higher for longer amounts of time compared to smokin a j or blunt.

It's definitely a whole different experience, one worth trying! :bigjoint:

"Well i have been smoking blunts, joints, bongs and bowls since i was fifteen why switch now?"

I think it's best to think of a vaporizer as an addition to your cannaboid dellivery methods, not as a replacement. Give you something different for awhile.

- Less Smell: Forget everything else - a vaporizer could keep neighbors or others from finding out that you smoke bud. Safety.

- Marijuana contains 4X the tar per volume as tobacco. Using a vaporizer will eliminate this, the change is amazing and you can feel it over the first week. Health.

- better delivery system: you will get twice as high on 1/2 the bud. Conservative estimate. $$$ efficiency/effectiveness

- experience the taste of different strains without the smoke. Kali Mist is the most amazing soft spice .... cannaseur pallet.

- gives a different type of high/stone, not as fuzzy headed as smoking. The Astronaut
Factor!

- More convenient:

--- I can take my Volcano bag around the house with me taking a hit whenever I want. A bag last 15+ minutes. I put the bag in a modified ski bag to take it out doors

--- I can take a hit off my Purple Days, which stays on 24/7, then leave the bowl for hours before another hit.

these would be my pics in each category. The pick will also depend on the type of hit you want, take a look and to see if there are any you want to talk about.

Your least expensive alternative, and one of the best, is the Launch Box from below. They're developing a plug in a/c adapter for home.

The Volcano is fantastic, probably the thing that people notice least is how resilient the machine is, how easy it is to clean. If you've got the money this is a great machine. My favorite among the bag/reservoir type.

If you want an inexpensive bag type I'd go with the HerbalAire, it's reviewed better than the Extreme.

The other types I have/like are:

Silver Surfer - whip, direct draw. Simple, people love it. I gave mine to a friend, I never used it because of the Volcano. My friend loves it, says he's higher than ever before and uses half the bud of smoking.

Launch Box - Magic Flight: IMO the best portable on the market. I have an I-inhale (Iolite) that is useless. At ~$90 USD plus a 15 minute battery charger this is 1/3 the price of other portables and could be used as a full time home vaporizer. If you're short on cash this is where I'd start. I can get higher using the LB than with my Volcano, thicker hits. Takes a little more time and a bit of practice but thicker hits. Has a trench instead of a bowl, permanent screen. Conduction between the screen and the powdered bud allows for 3-5 second warm ups and good tasting hits. Uses one AA battery, lasts me for a trench over an hour and a half walk. The warranty: lifetime replacement if the LB is broken for any reason, including operator misuse. The warranty makes sense when you figure out how the box works.

Purple Days is a direct draw vaporizer that gives 2-3 good draws per bowl and 40 bowls per gram. I did a test and got only 23 bowls from a gram but anywhere from 6-20 hits per bowl. Amazing flavorful hits. It stays on all day long, or use a timer - takes 1/2 hour to warm up, and uses about the same electricity as a night light. You can get a battery pack and use it as a portable. Only $180. The catch, theres a 9+ week waiting period. Mine took 14 weeks from order to arrival. If you live in the US you can get the Myrtlezap, the vaporizer that the Purple Days was designed from. Very similar but Purple Days has a cooler name and claims improvements over the Myrtlezap. The Myrtlezap has brass in the air flow

Another type is the flame heat source on the heating block, Supreme is the best portable in this class. I bought a cheap plastic housed VP600 that bubbled the first try so I scavenged the ceramic heating tube and made my own Plug n Play vaprorizer with a jet torch, the ceramic tube, a metal light switch box for housing, and the bowl set from the VP. Worked better than the vapoir gene. The Supreme will give you Volcano size hits in the same time, but the unit takes time to warm up.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!! They cut the guys hand off! Holy shit they're crazy! OH NO! What if they're involved with the Peat Moss Industry!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Everyone buy a Supreme just in case!

sneaks off to buy more Supreme stock

I've made a Volcano from an old metal Vapor Gene, a heat gun, silicone tubing and a Volcano Bag. Like the Vriptec. Which was also the name of an onion belt back in the day, or as we called it the "What is that fucking stupid thing you have on?"

I have a whip delivery system and I think I would like a bag delivery system better since my glass gets hot after some use (and Im a big toker) also the air is too warm on my throat over time (not complaining vs smoke as that KILLS!) Seems to me a big bag that you could let vapors cool a bit and tote around house like Hobbes said would be ideal. My next vaporizer will prolly be a volcano when I can get the money... BTW great info Hobbes!!
