Last year mine went outside the second to last week of May. If you recall last May was cold and excessively wet. This year I'll be doing the same but I do have 11 that I've germinated from seed that are outside and will be their entire lives.

thanks man...I wouldnt call myself a grower yet...about 5 years ago I got some small clones from a friend and just dug some holes...mixed that soil up with what I think was some kind of Miracle-Gro soil...threw the plants in the ground and watered a couple times a week untill I harvested...no skill or method applied...and we thought they turned out great...anyways time has passed tngs have changed and now I have the time to do a little bit more and the drive to do it some what right...anyways my plan is to get some clones from my father in law...he does a crop every year for personal use which is what I want mine for...this time I would like to maximize my yield and I actually care about the plants...what is your usual game plan ?

This is my second year. I learned a LOT last year.

That said, I've started seeds outside this year (more of an experiment than anything), so far so good. 11 seedlings showing their first true leaves (100% germ rate) I'm keeping them sheltered at night but still outdoors, I had my run in with shock from not hardening them off last year. So I'll see what comes of these experimental plants but I also have 2x Nebula and 2x GDP that will go outside later in the year. I grow strictly for personal use, I had 1 surviving female last year and she produced 6oz dried and cured and I lost close to 2oz to mould.

If last year is any indication this years harvest should carry me through all next year.

I plant them in pots, not in the ground. Last year I finished in a 3gal, this year will be 5 & 7 gal pots. A healty 4-5 node plant is my target before putting them out. They have established a root system and they have decent solar panels ready to optimize the intensity of the sun. Last year I noticed 1cm - 3cm growth per day once hardened off. Then up to 6cm during pre-flower, the finished product was 1.5m tall at the end of it's life :)

I feel it was not too bad considering it was my first grow and had shocked them more than once.

Was just checkin around again about frost on the Island...guess there is usually a 50% chance of at least 2 frosts happening in April...and 0 in May...so pretty much anytime now i guess eh ?...but probably a couple weeks into May like you had said...just to be safe ?

I personally think if you are Nanaimo or south on the east side you'd probably be fine. Frost is more of a concern if the plants actually have frost on them. If you are taking the next 2 weeks to harden them off (putting them out but in shaded areas) I can't see ther being much of an issue.

my plan is to get the clones from buddy and put them straight into the ground...dont really have any other options...is this just going to shock the shit right outta the poor lil things ?

^ barn, perfect!

recomendations...

Don't get caught with 50.

Even carded we're only allowed 25 (and that's with special permissions).

so what should do with them do you think...hide in the barn for awhile bringing them out into the sun for a little while each day ? back into the barn overnight and early mornings ?

Leave them in the barn during the heat of the day, early mornings or evenings in the sun should be fine after a few days. The intensity of the direct sunlight is what will damage them, that and the temperature fluctuations. Give them a few days in the "brighter" area of the barn to acclimate to the temperatures THEN start worrying about getting them used to the light. DO NOT let the soil get saturated when it rains, not at this point.
