Vac purge won't build pressure

I just got a new vac it pro from eBay and it came with a 1 stage 3cfm pump. So I did a batch of bho and hooked everything up, the pump was plugged in, turned on, the valve on the vac chamber was on, the pump seemed to be making the right noises, I had the oil level just below the max level. When I put the bho in the indicator on the gauge wouldn't move and there seemed to be no pressure in the chamber. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Or if I did something wrong? Any help or tips would be appreciated

Push the lid down as you turn pump on. Sometimes they need just a bit of assistance getting it to seal.

Is the release valve open or closed?
*needs to be closed

Isolation valve needs to be open though.

When you turn the pump on, does your gauge move at all?

If it does, what does it read.?

There are a many possibilities, first we need to figure out if your gauge is working correctly.

Try, tapping lightly on the gauge when the pump is on,this sometimes is the problem.

I imagine between the Contributors and other oil gurus, we can get this figured out for you.

Thanks for the reply, the release valve is closed and the isolation valve is open. When I turn the pump on the gauge doesn't move at all and I tried tapping on it lightly

put a balloon in the chamber.. just tie the end.. and dont fill it up.. put it in.. if the balloon is filling with air wen u turn your pump on.. ur gauge could be fucked.

Still not purged, splash some acetone on that bitch, and cook off the acetone however needed. It works well post extraction. Everything will lay flat w out pockets of tane.
So I did my first vac purge run it took me eleven and a half hours of purging, I put in 60 grams of nugs and got out 8.71 in final product

VWR is how I vacuum purge! Just need a stronger pump or perhaps hook it up in series instead of a parallel connection from the steel lines feeding one head into the other as to increase volume.IMG_20140329_140824.jpg

For ease of small batch purging, acetone while that shits warm and kill it however needed, acetone rocks for purging. Get w it.

Don't mean to hate, you got a nice flavanoid extract happening, but there is more potent shit out there.

It's nice and pretty. If it's a bit harsh, it's under purged. Ethanol it's even okay to leave residues as the last 25%is largely water, it promotes good vapor when the moisture content is <15%. It leaves the extract sweeter, but if acetone is used... leave no residues.

Damn 11.5 hours for 8.7gs ....all the other forums i read say that for my under 2g runs i should be done in 2 hours or less, sounds like with your times they may be right. I know its not black and white like that tho

ANyway - what temps and how did you heat while you ran your pump for 11 hours?
