UVC LED Where to buy?

UVC is normally filtered out by the atmosphere so it is not a normal component of sunlight on the surface. It is an extremely dangerous wavelength because it is strongly absorbed by DNA in living cells. What you are probably after is UVB which you can find in fluorescent reptile bulbs. UVB is dangerous also and IMHO and from experience, it is of questionable value in a grow room. In my test the trichomes on the surface of the buds that were exposed to UVB turned brown and there was no noticeable improvement in potency or trichome density. What it did do for me, is waste power and complicate/clutter my already cluttered canopy LOL.

10 to 1 he saw the thread about killing bugs with uvc.

Anyone have a clue. I found a few manufacturers but they only seem to sell in big bulk orders.
Looking to experiment.
I did find this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/P-Light-Toilet-Light-bathroom-germ-killing-UVC-LED-night-motion-room-detect-UV-/150706026772?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_15&hash=item2316c77914
I could modify that, for the price it might just be a great deal tbh...
I think I just sold myself, unless someone has a better suggestion, :)
Thanks guys.
Supra is right about UVC. Big Blue ozone generators use UVC bulbs. They'll cook retinas and the ozone they emit will oxidize living tissue. There are very few leds that even qualify as UVB. The few I found are used in medical equipment and cost too much for us mere mortals. Fluorescent reptile bulbs are about all that's available currently.

I did :)
Yea thanks supra your advice has been very helpful to me with ordering the LED's.
Yea I wanna mess with the UVC for sterilization purposes.
I use a High Output UVA+UVB Reptile T8 which I like.
@Supra I had the same issue with the UV Bulb burning the plants slightly, but when i backed it off and kept it on less (3-4 hours/day in flower) it helped.
The bugs, I have found ways to manage, The PWM is more of my concern. I don't want to control it, I want to eliminate it. I am about to try some more sprays I picked up but it would be nice if the UVC was a more reasonable option.

It looks like my hopes are being smashed.. sniffle sniffle...

How is your humidity during lights out? Circulation fans running during lights out also?

I had an outdoor catnip plant that got PM during a really humid summer. I tried neem spray and that worked very well, but that is just treating the symptoms, the real problem is humidity.

He may not be the only one to think of the UVC idea and it is good to stomp out that shit before anyone harms themselves.

Yea it might be a good idea on one hand but when I consider how many small mistakes I have made with other UV, well you don't want to make 1 mistake with UVC, so.. scrap that..
Sometimes difficulties like PWM and Mites or Thirps can make one want to resort to anything, even the Nuclear option.. Literally, in this case.. lol!
I did find the 265nm LED's on Alibaba BTW.

...maybe as auxiliary lamp for cleaning the closet after flowering and before starting a new crop... ...with appropriate protections and taking lot of care... ...I think can help sterilize areas without crop up...

...or in a closet zone or box... on air intraction zone... ...maybe uvc box located outside the cabinet to trap uvc inside the box... ...can be used during cultivation ...help with mold fight ...sterilize the air inlet... or outlet too...

pd...or maybe in the air extraction zone mixed with ozone on other closet zone or box located outside the cabinet to trap uvc and ozone inside the box... ...can be used during cultivation ...help with odors on extracted air too...

...and off course... always follow the instructions safety recomendations working with uvc and ozone... safety first always...

pd1... and talking about ozono... ozoned water help on mold fight?... and ozoned water help with mold fight on humidificators way?...

saludos
