Uv cob help

I picked up one of these

I have a few questions about a light like this
1. Do I need a fixture or can I just wire to those tabs on the sides.
2. Do I need a heat sink ?
3. I have an lrs 75-24 I can use that to power it ?

an have any experience with these ? Just looking to supplement some other spectrums. Thanks

How hot will this little thing run ? I’m currently running 8QB132 at damn near Max. I’m going to run this little card at like 50 W just to supplement UV, is a heat sink really necessary? Is one cob running at 50 W going to run hotter than my quantum boards running at 75 each? It looks like this driver would work then am I correct?

Yeah a heatsink is needed, 120mm pin heat sink or one of those cpu ones with a fan on would be the cheapest way to do it.
Not sure you need 50w of uv , there are some good uv threads on here if you use the search bar.

Just because the COB is 50w doesn't mean you have to run it at that. You need to match the voltage of the cob and use a driver that will supply that voltage and pick a current which drives it as hard or soft as you like as long as its not over the max rated current.

ANd yeah, it may be less wattage be its on a small surface area, unlike your boards which are less dense diode wise. COBs need a good heatsink but if you run it soft then you need less heat sink.

not sure how hard I need to run this, The girls do fine already this is just to up it a notch.

Just check with a meter, I’m running my boards at 34.5 volts 36 is max so they are not maxed out to be truthful. The lrs drivers have a variable pot so you can turn them down. So if I would run this cob at 1/2 strength could I get away with no heat sink ? Or do I need one no matter what ?

As far as the cob and the driver matching up I aware of that much. I believe that’s not an issue but please correct me if I’m wrong.
