I'm going to build a DIY flower LED next, but since I needed a place to store/hide mom's, not to mention a place to start with regard to DIY LED (and electronics in general), I figured a single lamp DIY LED would be a good starting point.
The lamp: (1) Vero 29 5k @700mA via Mean Well APC-35-700. Ebay'd 8"x4" heatsink, actively cooled by super chill 1200 RPM 120mm fan.
The "room": spare pvc and panda film, made to fit in far corner of closet; approximately 1.5'x2'x3'
The concept: Always have a mom ready for cloning purposes, grow SOG style in flower instead of ScrOG so that if Landlord intervention happens again and I have to chop early, the loss won't be so devastating to the process (i.e. I won't have to start from seed over and over and I won't have to veg for months).
I may change things up, experiment with 3 or 4 smaller Vero's, idk. The spread and coverage is pretty much exactly what I had hoped for so perhaps I'll leave it alone. I've never veg'd under a COB LED before so I'm not sure what to expect. Currently the sprouts are under a PL fluorescent bulb until they're all standing upright.
