Using vinegar for PH lowering?

I have a question in regards to using vinegar, I started to use it and it seems to stabilize my PH for a much longer time frame then what I was using. I was using a sodium based crystal, for pools and spas; the only two ingredients are sodium sulphate and sodium bisulphate. We have a pool so I just use it to lower my PH; just ½ tsp per 5 gallons brings my water right to 6. But it being sodium based I did not want the salt build up so I started to use vinegar.
So what about vinegar good or bad to use?

Vinegar is organic, which can cause problems in a hydro res. It can cause gunk build up and invites root disease. It also does not stabilize PH as well as a product ment for it, such as GH PH down. A bottle of PH down doesn't cost much more than vinegar when you consider the benefits and how much you have to use.

As far as your plants health, vinegar will not harm them at all.

Well that explains the look of my fresh water solution and the foam. Thank you I will have to use the the other for now and look at the GH PH down. Appreciate the help.

The ph would go down with vinegar, but it would not stay down long. Ph down from a hydro shop is your best bet, because that aquarium ph down just don't have the desired affect.
