Using old hid reflector for big cfl

I have an old reflector laying around from when I first got my 400w setup, but have since switched to a cooltube. Can I use the gull wing reflector with a 125w cfl if the base fits the socket and I replace the end of the cord to a regular plug in(the end is just the part that plugs into the ballast), wondering cause if so this would be great in my mom cabinet? Sure.

You can even get edison base to mogul socket adapters but they add length to the bulb.

4-55w, 1-42w with a criling fan fixture. i know it's not what your using but it will work.
