Using Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) spray (3% strength) on drip saucers under pots?

Hi everyone,

I'm considering using the 3% regular strength hydrogen peroxide solution as a spray to use for underneath the pots and the drip trays. Do you think this is an effective idea? I would like to hear your comments on this, or experience using it to control gunk in general down under pots...IMGP1410.jpgIMGP1409.jpg

10 cents for a dozen of em toss em out save your troubles, or fold up a paper towel between the two and toss it out between watering...

Hi mindatlarge,

I would advise you using a 1% solution of Peroxide (dilute the 3% solution by mixing 1 part of peroxide in 3.3 parts of distilled water) to spray your drip trays. It would take dare of your gunk contamination and at the same time the water dripped from your pots would get enriched with the residual peroxide and one reabsorbed by the plant would promote the root growth and general health of plants. It might even increase the production of flowers as a side effect.

Hope this helps...

I use hydrogen peroxide all the time. Its better to be safe than sorry. I had white mold on some of my plants from mushrooms growing in the next room and I was able to save them with spraying the tops of the dirt with hydrogen peroxide along with flushing the dirt. Hydrogen peroxide is safe on human skin along with plants. Keeps your fungi in check
