Has anyone found any actual studies that shows how CBD's have been known to help with pain? What about any other components of cannabis for that matter?

To me it needs some THC. I have used extracts that had no THC. They help but only for a med duty headache. They do seem to have a calming effect. How ever for seizures and a few other things CBD seems to help a lot.

This sentiment is one that I have heard echoed previously. Can you perhaps elaborate on what types of strains/cannabis profiles are the best for your particular condition?

I used Indicas for pain, sleep and anxiety. Only smoke in the evening after the work is done. Used to be 4-5 pain pills a day and 3-4 happy pills. Now only half of one pain pill and half of one happy pill. I also do not take sleeping pills any longer. A heavy indica seems to stay in you for the pain and stress relief but not the high. I get thru the day much better.

Thats wonderful to hear that you are no longer as dependent on the prescription medications. Are their any particular strains in general that you gravitate toward?

How about a little bit about yourself. Whats up?
I am a young professional who is trying to more completely understand the medical marijuana industry through both the eyes of the businesses that are apart of its ever changing landscape while also speaking with patients and gaining insight into their perspective as individuals actually going through their respective state programs.

Any personal stories or information patients are willing to share in relation to their ailments and cannabis use I believe can be extremely helpful in ultimately allowing certain powers within the industry make better and more informed decisions when moving into the future.

The 1:1 thc/cbd strains work great and mixing them with traditional cannabis also works wonders, allowing you to dial in the perfect ratio.

I have multiple back injuries. One of them being compression fractures throughout the spine from a rock climbing fall. The L1 L2 are degenerating and not much to do but try to manage pain and lose more weight. I use cannabis daily.

Oral cannabis medication is far better than inhaling. You must build tolerance to be able to accept the right dosage of medicine to counter the pain/discomfort. A combination of as many different types of cannabis you can get a hold of seems to work best. I prefer High grade red oil extractions over the reflux boiled RSO that is so popular.

Topical applications are highly effective too for localized pain treatment. Concentrations for oral and topical must be extremely high IMO to have noticeable affect. individual body chemistry probably plays a role in dosage requirements per individual I imagine.

This is the first I am hearing of someone saying that topical are effective. Most people I speak with prefer oral dosing or inhalation

It all depends on the type of pain you have.
Inflammation can be helped with CBD.
THC can work along with opioids so you won't have to take as much due to the added effect from cannabis.

Best taken in oil form for chronic pain as well.

:)

Topically, the oil can be added to a balm and rubbed into sore areas. (certain types of Arthritis)

hope that helps.

Isnt THC and CBD a fat soluble molecule? How would it absorb through the skin unless in some sort of lipid was present in the cream

When the THC and CBD are infused into coconut oil (lipid) it will absorb trans-dermal.

Are you sure you are an MD? Doesn't seem like you read my previous response.

A majority of skin creams contain alcohol which is known to easily absorb through the skin. mixing a THC/CBD infused oil with any of these creams would facilitate the lipid transfer at the skin. I will say it again... the thc/cbd concentrations must be extremely high to cross skin. It will also not get you high in the same way but instead acts like a localized treatment.

I am unsubscribed from this one considering I think Your full of BS.

I never proclaimed to be a doctor by any means. I am not sure where apart from my username you drew that conclusion but you are unfortunately mistaken. My purpose for joining this boards is to expand my knowledge and build off of my interest in medicine and cannabis plant science. I apologize if you felt I was trying to deceive you but that is certainly not what I am attempting to do.
