So im curious if im using foil to make a little light catch in my grow "Box" would I want to use the shiny side or the dull side of the foil to bounce light off of?

mylar or flat white paint is better than foil but if that's all you have like smallclosetgrower said, dull side out

Yea thanks for the tips guys. I'm just throwing up foil cuz I have only one small seedling im just testing a first grow with learning the ropes before I go all out investing for better lights and mylar. I been doin my homework, but figure a little hands on would be a good first go around with cheap around the house supplies.

supposedly foil will do more harm than good, not worth putting up cause it can burn little holes in your plants. foil reflects heat not light. my recommendation is to paint white, put up some white poster board, or just do nothing. better than risking your plants i'd say.

there is a myth thread on here somewhere, foil should be on the list. most folks that are using foil are also using inferior lighting that's not bright enough to cause hot spots.

Foil is better than nothing at all but I have found you can get much better results with glossy white poster board.
