Using a Old Freezer for Veg Room

Hey guys, I live in a beautiful house out in the country. Problem is that I don't have a lot of space for both my rooms. My tiny garage is just big enough for my 76 x 76 x 76 tent with a 1000w HPS/MH. I have a small upstairs attic, but it's spider mite heaven, so that's out of the question. I also have a lay down freezer outside. The lights I have available right now to put in it are a dual T-5 48in 54w. Basically I'm screwing the light fixture to the lid of the freezer. Any idea how to do the ventilation in this thing? Can I take the freon out somehow and just run the freezer like normal? Is this even a good idea?

wow, I'm not a refrigeration tech or any thing, but I'm pretty sure that they run with a compressor and without liquid they do some scary stuff. If you don't care about the freezer working as a freezer any more I would just punch two holes into it, one on each side and just put some 6" fans in it.

Just my two cents.

Kareemowheet: a 4" hole saw at Lowe's or The Home Depot, (if you already have the mandrel), is $20. You can put all kinds of vent holes in it but please remember to use eye protection when you do. I used to teach A/C on cars and if you hit one of those refrigerant lines the last thing you're likely to see in this life is a little gray cloud.

As far as using it as a grow cabinet, if it was an upright freezer I would think it would be perfect but you definitely want to get it out of sight. Please keep us posted on how this works out.
