last year my routine was first thing was wake and shake..
to get the morning dew/fog juice off my plants...
the water would fall all over me...
it was one of my least favorite things about growing.

so this year...i want to use a leaf blower...in my head this will work great...but im not sure...
anyone ever try this? think it will knock of the trichs?

That's a great idea! Never thought of that. But I'm kind of lazy and would rather get wet than get the leaf blower out. But I can see if you have a lot of plants it would be worthwhile.

Dont think it would knock the trich's off but i do believe it would add some stress to the plants, a leaf blower isnt going to imitate natural wind, its gonna act like a hurricane wind on the plants. Doing that everyday could in the end reduce your overall yield or make hermies (stress in plants can cause them to produce male parts, for survival). I wouldnt do that, but hey thats just me.

a leaf blower could potentially damage trichrome heads but under a microscope is the only way to tell for sure.

personallyi like the idea but wont do it because to me it seems like an easy way to break branches. i mean if the weight from water can snap branches then so can 200+ mph winds lol

Easy solution, you dont like getting water on you when you do that? Buy a $1.00 pancho from target. Problem solved, just take it off after your done shaking.

Much simpler and no risk of stress, branch breaking and/or trich killing. :D

oh i should of said my plants are caged and trellised...so im not going to brake branches....
im going to look for a weak one...or one with a low setting...harbor freight has one for $20...i might get it on my next trip to civilization
i think i read about a leaf blower on one of doublejj's threads but i think they were joking...
ill try it and then look with my scope....
a poncho would work ok but they don't really cover the arms...

Buy a poking stick with a Y shape on the end and just poke and shake em from afar, from a deckchair if you like, with a joint in the other hand.

Poking stick :)

Do you get mold often? I shake my plants in the morning too, but to get rid of bugs. Sometimes I get big ass grass hoppers on my plants, so I'll get the water hose, set it to Jet Spray, and blast the shit out of my plants. I never run into mold issues, but then again I'm in So Cal.

If it is mold that your fighting, you might want to try a milk and water solution. However, as far as using a leaf blower, I don't think it will really hurt. C'mon sense will tell you how close you can get with it.

the leaf blower would work ..
I don't know how close your neighbors are tho

Curious minds might want to peek over the fence and see why you are outside each morning with a leaf blower ....

I would think a hairdryer on the heatless setting, low speed, maybe even a diffuser attachment would be more gentle.

I have actually done that when i rained real hard one night it worked great but i suggest an electric one i wasn't to fond of the mix gas smoke around my stuff haha but i did work and mine were all tried up too so i didn't have to worry about brakeing anything

Some leaf blowers you can turn down. Your not trying to blow leaves across your yard. Your blowing water off a leaf. Keep that in mind. The 150 MPH leaf blower, might be a bit much. Maybe look for a battery one, they work well and are a tad slower w/ the wind speed.

That should work fine... You don't have to be 6 inches away with it on full blast... If it's too strong you can just stand back a bit.
