Using a HPS Bulb in conjunction with CFL's

Anyone see a problem with this? I figured the plant would benefit from both the red spectrum and the blue spectrums. Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

this seems to be the most used method for many of the experienced growers here
hps up high, cfl's down lower

It works very well. I use a 600 watt ballast with 4 100 watt cfl's in the corners of my tent. It lights up all those nooks and rounds out the light spectrum. Not to mention that it adds that many more lumens. A very inexpensive way to add a little more power to your grow.

I've added 4 26 watt (100 watt) cfl's in conjunction with my 150 Hps...26 watt cfl puts out 1,600 lumens of blue light spectrum each. A nice cheap way to increase growth. Blue spectrum will keep internodal growth at minimum, creating a nice compact plant.
