Using a 150 watt for a closet grow. Will this be enough?

Hello,

Bout to start my first personal grow and was wondering if 1 150 Watt HPS lamp would be sufficient for the entire process. I will be growing in a 3x3 foot area and probably will be doing 4 plants. I feel that the 150 Watt will be enough to veg 4 plants, but I am wary that it will do the job for complete flowering. I can easily get another light, as they are only $59.99, I just chose one originally because of my concern over heat and adequate ventilation. BTW, I have been told that 80 CFM will be adequate ventilation for this light. What do you think?

I started my plants using cfls and then went to side by side 150's mh and hps a couple weeks in. You can check my grow out in my sig. I had crazy heat issues and alot of stretch. Depends on where you are and where your venting to. how big do u intend to veg them for? Personally I would save the 60 bucks and finish your first grow with what you already have and throw in a couple cfls. If you decide to keep growing your going to want something much bigger anyway. My two 150's are now collecting dust in my closet lol

Yeah, the small lighting is only temporary. I'll probably end up ventilating around 150 CFM for good measure, as I have been told that there is no such thing as too much ventilation. Ill be growing jack Herer and Big Buddah cheese. I'd like to get the hang of it before I go to a larger scale. BTW ill be growing in pure coco using Canna's Coco A B line plus Pk 13 14 and rhizotonic. Ill start the seeds in 2'' rockwool cubes, then transplant to 3'' cubes after good development.

600w Hps is the best bang for the buck.
As long as you get a grow to pay for the 60$ its all proffit.
Upgrade again when you can.

I love my lil 150 HPS an 175 MH in my lil cab.
The opitmun light for that bulb is between 4 an 14 inches.
So you got to keep em small an close.
I had to seal the heat away from the plants an vent it.
Or It would have been disasster.

3x3 = 400w light...... Anything less for flower will be less then ideal......

No.

This is a 250w, with 3 plants.... just enough... AND in a 2x2 floor space..

I would just grow one, well trained tied down plant under a 150w with like a 1.5x1.5ft canopy
