using 2500k for veg?

Hey im using 2500k kelven or w.e its called for veg growth....its a 65 watt equivallent to 300 watt CFL....Will this stress my plants at all? Will this harm them...so far there doing great, and im trying to get the 5000k to grow for my veggie baby, but can i continue using these 2500k cfls, or will it cause to much stress??? It will work just fine, no stress at all. It is just optimal for flowering phase but you can veg with 2500-2700k cfls or with hps light and it will work.

Awesome TYVM! for the answer its been stressing me out...Im only using two 300 w equivalent lights anyways for 2 plants so im planning on getting some 5000k cfls also to add on for more suplemntal light...tyvm once again, and please do feel free to check out the grow log!

for the small amount of light your plants look pretty good to me

using that spectrum is fine....but you will get farther internode spacing (space between each set of branches)

if you want more compact growth, use 5000k + 6500k would be optimal.

if its an auto, dosent matter as much as they dont get that big.

also, your plant is too hot .... get it cooled down.

Wat do u mean its too hot, how do i cool it down...how do u no its too hot lol?? i dont even no wat that means?? So far its really compact too it just made its 5th node and is only 4inches tall...lol but i do want it as compact as possible so thank u for that advice!

Got the same problem I think.. too hot? or too low of humidity. Not meaning to jack your thread.. maybe get some help for both of us. My temps are running mid 70's to 80 depending on the outside temp. But my RH is mid 20's to 30's. I think the RH is my problem... crinkly looking leaves. How can it be so friggn dry when its raining outside..??

when the leaves curl upwards and the edges get pointy all around...... is signs of overheating (heat stress)
this could also mean lack of water or toxic salt buildup

chances are it not salt buildup as they are so young (unless your using water with very high ppm)

No ur not jacking at all!! Thats eactly y i love forums, this is deffinally the answers im looking for...I always wondered y my leaves looks so dry and right now its winter so im using a space heater which drys out my room completly so yeah its deff a humdity factor....now i get wat hot means...and thank u for pointing that out ill get on helping them right away!! And thanx iamgman for clearifying that...it helps in my grow...my last grow i only grew one plant in some stressfull times, and it turned out male...im trying to make this grow as perfect as i can so no more males..

your temps are fine if they are staying under 80

your rh is a bit low but its fine if you dont have humidifier

i have rh at about 30ish as well atm and mine are doing fine. my temps get high a bit at times (30-33c)...usually at 28c.... but thats cuz I got shit carbon that too small a size and restricts my exhaust (waiting on my new stuff this week)


crinkly how? like dry crinkly? are they yellowing or spotting? might be a ph problem too

Well there in a room full of mylar and no fans...i use only guano and sometimes seaweed, and bottled water so yeah its deff not dalt....its heat stress and humidity problems...tyv very very very much for pointing that out....first thing on my shopping list is a fan tomorow...please, do fallow and comment on my grow log https://www.rollitup.org/organics/509747-organice-grow-log-3rd-grow.html becuase i want to make this a stress free grow so no males...its bag seed, and last one was a male

if your having humidity issues get a bucket or bowl and put it inside your growspace it will raise humidity


this is assuming you dont have high power extraction fan sucking the air out before it helps the grow area.

get a fan that is your problem 100%

humidity that is 30 or so isnt ideal, but its not a huge huge issue

as long as your plants are watered properly they will be fine ...... the higher humidity helps ecause they also take in water thru the leaves and can pull ti from the air

you can supplement by getting a spray bottle and misting them everyday (a couple times a day if you want to)


bottled water can have high ppm (salts n stuff) compared to some tap waters...depends where you live

Wow i nvr knew that about bottled water ill check everything out and tysvm for all the help really...and ill get the fan first thing tomorow..also i just put a bucket of water in the room....im thinkig about getting a britta filter, will that lower the PPM of water?...or will boiling help?

your bottled water shoudl show the ppm level on the label somewhere

britta filters only filter out suspended solids (what you see floating around in the water)
so its good if you got alot of crap in your water.

only way to really lower ppm is to use reverse osmosis .... but if you do that, you will need to supplement calcium, magnesium and other nutrients that might not be in your fert. (those thing are usually in the water already)

best thing would be to get yourself a ppm pen meter (can get them for 10-20 bucks off ebay) you should also get a ph pen meter (same price off ebay)... just dont get a no name china one although im sure they work fine for a general idea...just wouldn;t trust the accuracy.

you can always get a ph test kit (drops) from your local hardware/general good store that has a pool section.

ph is important as when you add fert and stuuf your ph will change (along with other thing that change it too) so you need to know what ph water your putting in.....if your putting in too high ph water your soil ph will rise and you will get deficiencies
thsi goes the same for too low ph
