i have a bud box with a 600w metal halide bulb and i have all the air vents open, i have a big enuf extraction fan and i have a small fan circulating the air, although its very small.
i went in this morning and my temp was 95 degrees!!!!!!!!!!! i need to get it down!!

any good ways of getting the temp right down? as i have seedlings and cuttings on the go now.
the problem is that because the weather outside is warm and the vents are open, there is still no cold air coming in.

If you've not got room enough to add air con then i hear frozen bottles of water in there can help get the temps down...

air con is a bit of a big job, i could use bottles but it wud be very awkward to use everyday.

shall i get a free standing big fan to circulate the air more?

an air conditioner would help bring down the temperature very very quickly... if you can get the room cool enough w/ an ac, you'll be all set... the thing is having a bigger fan is nice, but if you're just moving hot air all around, you're not really helping the situation... also tommy (above) has a good point, if you have a flange and hosing you could air cool your light, which will also bring down the temp of the room... while they are clones / seedlings your babies can cope with slightly higher temps (if it's also humid) but once you're into veg, you really need to get it cooler unless you co2 inject... hope it helps...

Beware of possible wind burn when adding bigger fans. Plus you'll only be circulating the already warm air unless you actually do something to cool it.

I'd use 2-3 large plastic bottles of frozen water, placed by your air intake. 2-3 more in the freezer and switch them around daily when temps are highest. I use cool tube and rarely have temp issues. Running the light cycle overnight can bring temps down a little also...

right.....i have gone out and bought a free standing fan to circulate the air above the seedlings, also i have gone and bought a 12000 portable aircon unit for the outside room that the bud box is in, im thinking if i bring the outside room temp right down then the inside of the budbox will be getting alot of cooler air through the vents.

oh yeah and i made a newbie mistake....i have my seedlings in soil on a heatmat, and i went and put my hydrometre/thermometre on the soil. hahaha. obv the temp was guna be higher. DOH!!!!!!!

thanks for help anyway guys.

i dont have an air cooled light. the guy at the store told me i wudnt need one. expert NOT. anyway i have my light on a 5pm - 11am cycle so i am using the best times to turn my lights on! im going to leave my aircon vent near the tent vents!

well, there you go... glad to be of help... in mine, i have a hygrometer and thermometer with a max temp and humidity stored on it, so i know how hot it was all day long as opposed to just when i look at it... it just hangs there on the side of my room, always monitoring... it may be a bit costly, but you can get one that doesnt store the info at a garden center of any major store for about 5$ american... just a thought...

just my advice but for my mommies i'm switching to gh water farm style buckets (self contained, one power source needed, auto style) and can push out a big big plant (so at the end of the year, it'll yield one huge plant) while yielding lots of clones also)... again just my thought, and post some pix of the setup, sounds trick...

yeah i think they are the same thing just by different companies. what medium are you going to use? i am using bio biz all mix which is...20% sphagnum peat moss, 35% garden peat, 10% high quality worm manure, 30% perlite and 5% Pre-Mix. ive heard soil doesnt grow as fast as hydro. but i need something of easy maintanenance and quite forgiving!
