Urgent help - leaves Corkscrewing :(

Hi, I've been battling a mystery illness for the last two or so weeks with most of my plants. The blades of some leaves grow in a bizarre corkscrew confirmation. It's affecting 4 out of 5 plants now. I'm just getting ready to go into flower and would obviously like to clear this up first. The plants all look healthy green apart from the twisted & distorted growth. I even went to gently bend one of the growing tips on a plant and it broke(wilted?) not snapped. It was very soft. I found another small growing tip snapped itself off, it's was dark green and soft. The plants have just been recently re-potted into much large 40L pots, they are approximately 3months old currently vegging but should naturally transition into flower shortly. The medium is 100% coco, pH between 5.5 to 6, using 50% GT coco grow A+B, pH down (phosphoric acid) made in tap water. Daytime temps around 31c(max) and Night-time min. around 17c.

Any help, advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty stumped and just about to give up

Are you growing outside or inside? Looks like it's following the light in a weird way very rapidly. I really have no guess. I just haven't ever seen any pic like that. Heat stress, 31c, no. Is there a bottle of wine nearby, or perhaps you "watered" with wine?

Ok, quick google and some guy says it's PH instability. Some other articles say lockout from salt buildup of nutes which would be a Ph issue too. Maybe give them a flush?

Yes outside. That's why I'm so stumped! I never seen anything like this before myself. Very strange growth, leaves spiraling and what-not. Was thinking someone maybe even poisoned them at one stage. No, no wine at hand lol.

Yes was thinking pH instability too. I was a little lax at one stage just prior but never outside pH 5 - 6.5, last 3-5days have been good though and no real recovery. I run-off when I water and am only using 50% strength Nutrient solution so not so sure about salt build-up/lockout.

Just one thing about salt buildup, lots of people water with plain tap every other time to prevent it from happening. I know coco is different then soil; in that I know nothing about it lol. I've heard of people flushing it though.That's the only reason I mentioned it and the flush of water. Hopefully someone esle chimes in with ideas heh.

My first thought was Reveg. Do you have security lights that come on during the night?

Ok may give a flush a try then ... I normally do a few times a season but only if they show signs. Worth a try I guess

Good idea! No security light, but there are very weak lights coming from neighboring houses. I try to put it in the darkest place in the yard and haven't had any issues last few seasons in the same place but maybe I'll do more night-time checks. The lights appears much weaker than a full moon in any case but maybe it's a spectrum thing. Also I don't think they ever started to flower in the first place but you never know.

I've upped some full pics to put things in perspective. One seems to be affected only very little, one very badly and the other two in between. Feel free to keep the suggestions flowing.

you have a few purple veins in those pics, purple veins and cork screw leaves are tell tell signs of magnesium deficiency. particularly in coco. You should be supping CalMag into your feed regime on 100% coco

It's probably genetic. I don't see any deficiency in your plants.

It might be broad mites I suppose, but I have no experience with them.

I know they bite and the toxin they have causes bad things to happen to your plants. They can be dealt with but I'm not the guy to ask.

are they all clones or grown from seed?

if all clones from the same mother, then 4 out of 5 plants should be 5 out of 5...if from seeds and 4 out of 5 then you have another issue, such as a deficiency...bug leave noticeable marks

That's why I'm so stumped! Look healthy as a muthaf*cker, just the distortion. I'm not familiar with broad mites but with check into that - thanks. There are a few caterpillar moths around but nothing too serious I hope.

I'm am using Coco specific nutes but I guess trying some CalMag won't hurt. How much such I be using and should I do a foliar spray or thru the roots? Both?

Ok the fifth plant is showing very minor signs of leaf twisting. So more or less 5 out of 5. All grown from regular seed, 3 x Krystalica - Mandala, 2 x CaliJack - Medicann.

and coco is very notorious for "drawing" magnesium and needs to be supplemented with either a 2 tsp/gallon mix of epsom salt as a drench in between feeds, or use it as a foliar spay. Luckily cannabis is a calcium loving plant and very hard to overdose calcium, so adding CalMag to your feeding water, but being your using coco specific nutes, read the label and see how much calcium and magnesium are already in those nutes (that's what makes them specificly designed for coco, is the addition of calcium and magnesium to compensate this characteristic of coco)

It's 4% weight to volume for Calcium(part A) and 0.8% for Magnesium(part B). I use 2mL/L of both parts A+B @ 50% strength. Bloom goes up to 4.5%Ca + 1%Mg but just on the above grow now.

I go with genetics, if they are clones. I have had weird leaves from a couple of plants, but not 3 or four in the same group. If not clones, no overheat, standard soil and nutes, then it might be a mineral def, but very rare in an outdoor grow. I would use a foliar spray with a seaweed base ( Maxicrop) for added minerals, but after that, all the bases should be covered. Good luck

you have good green there so maybe a flush and then supp in some epsom salt into the coco, then feed your regular routine.....Not sure of your routine but when I use to grow coco (which I some times revert back to a coco grow every now and again), I had a 3 day schedule of; Day 1 - Water with CalMag only at 300ppm, Day 2 - Water with CalMag with base nutrient mixed in @ 500ppm-600ppm (bloom was a little higher 900-1000), Day 3 - Dry day, no feed or water, let the roots have their dry time, then repeat back at Day 1
