I have bought many seeds off of this site (BCSeeds) and upstate fem being 1 of the strains i have purchased and tried numerous times and all i get is hemaphradite everytime, the only strains i have been able to grow to crop out (that is after i finally find a bean that will crack) is fast and furious and jedi and both were good but finding good beans to crack is a big problem i always have with their products but now they shut down so it don't matter anymore, they can no longer rip people off.

Anyone still reading this thread, well Bc seeds has taken itself off of the internet and I must confess that I am quite disappointed in the overall outcome of these plants and my outdoor grow. They promised me a plant that would be ready by the end of September and here we are in the first week in Oct and I am only halfway through flowering. 10 Pounds per plant? Not even close. Do the elephant outdoor grow tall, yes, one person I knew, a seasoned grower got his to 19 feet 4 inches. It is at least 50% sativa but that plant is also no where close to finished the flowering phase. My tallest plant is 10 feet tall. But keep in mind they charged $390 for ten seeds and then jacked the price to $1490 for ten seeds. There are other plants that get just as tall for far less. I'm a newbie and now I'm baptized in outdoor growing. Sure I may well get a few pounds if the plants are ready before November but if not then they'll get all moldy due to our rain and cold in Canada. I could just have easily ordered from Dr. Greenthumb as he has a much better rep and his columbian skies can get up to four pounds of weed if you know what you're doing. So folks, to all who tried the seeds, hope you had better results. I learned tonnes. Has everything to do with where you choose to plant your girls...south facing slope getting solid light with no trees in front, but at the same time not having a huge crowd so that eye in the sky doesn't spot them. Also, don't use safers slug bait outside. It turns to mush after it rains and the slugs come right in for the main meal. I lost half of my plants due to that lesson. I discovered that sunshine mix#4 does really well outdoors compared to outdoor landscaping soil in plastic bags so long as you add in your shits. I would use Corry's slug and snail death. It's toxic and it kills everything that eats it. Even caterpillars. It's in a yellow box. Use a net around it so the deer don't try it. Mix your plants with trees and scrub near or behind the plants so eye in the sky has problems spotting it. Water buckets up on cliffs work but use two or three - not one like I did. July and August were way hot and I had to hike in 20 - 2 litre water bottles per location once a week. I got fit! Bear spray is a must. Saw many black bears and my spots also got looked at closely by them. They even drank out of my water buckets. Plant in a big hole in the ground so the roots can grow everywhich way. If you use grow bags and the plants grow tall they have nothing to hold them upright. A strong wind or if the animals want to go by them, they can and do fall over. Happened to me many times. So to all, I apologize for promoting elephant outdoors in North AMerica. We just don't have the climate for it in my opinion. I'm going to try dr greenthumb next summer. I have learned the lesson that a shorter season with some weed prevents the ganja bandits from finding your weed. Hence I will try Dr. Greenthumbs Iranian G 13 and maybe some others. Hope you take something from my learning curve.

In case anybody still reads this thread I wanted to reach out and apologize to everyone because I did pay over $1000 to BC seeds for their elephant outdoor strain, upstate and a few other strains. The Elephant outdoors did grow very tall but out of the 60 plants I put out there, they went way past September into October and in British Columbia that's when we get the cold and the rain coming in. I did everything right. I hiked out the soil and had my water close by but my bud got moldy and the stuff I was able to save, no one would take it, so I gave it to a friend since I took a break from smoking. I had a large ziplock bag of salvaged bud and that's it purely because of the massive mold issues that came in October. There is another site that sells elephant outdoors but if you are in Canada and want to grow outdoors, don't pick this strain. Get something that finishes in late august and early september. Like dr greenthumbs iranian autoflower and or kootenay mountain seeds nepalese grizzly. I'm not going to do all that work hiking out soil and manures and get focused on massive yields again. I'd rather have a successful finish with 4 oz to 1 pound dried. But I sure lost weight and I loved being out there in the woods building my self confidence. I'm ending this thread now. So to all you outdoor growers I wish you the very best and please remember to pick a strain that works in your particular area. Genetics is rule #1. Thanks.

I am in the middle of my grow was looking for pics of plants that I have in my garden so I could compare. I have 2 Elephant clones 3 foot tall and 1 Upstate 5 foot. They look verry healthy and seem to be doing well I will send some pics in a few days. The upstate looks like the real deal big, thick stem strong and branchy with shoots all over has verry nice smell like sour d but sweeter. Plant seems to grow fast and branches are strong and dense, heavy when shake plant. I also got ahold of some Chemdawg #4 4 foot two of them they look amazing, and to top it off 1 U-dub g13 5 foot from old UW strain plant looks intense but needs less ferts cuz of age I imagine, smells like heaven. I am 2 weeks from flowering and cant wait I will add some pics asap.
