Upgrading from a 400 to 600, experience?

So I've decided to replace my 400 watt to a 600 watt hps in my tent. I've already got the cool tube, and nice 400 cfm in line squirrel fan.

So what should I expect in terms of temperature difference? Cooling hasn't been a problem as of yet with the tent going up about 3-5 degrees over ambient temperature.

Thanks for the input. i appreciate it.

I noticed about a 4 degree difference when I upgraded from 400 to 600. But that was in a 6x6 grow room with a adjusta-wing open reflector .

This is in a 3×4 space. 6 foot ceiling. The cool tube really does a solid job. tops cab result reach a few inches from the tube with no ill effects.

I run 8-9 degrees over ambient with my 600 mh in a 4x4 with a sealed hood and a 440cfm inline hooked up to a 28" carbon filter, no biggie

Ah good to hear Jbone77, thanks. I think the only time I may have a problem will be summers here in Michigan, but the lights run at night so I'm usually home and would have air on anyways. Thanks mate, going from 75-78 to 83-85 shouldn't be a problem then.

How is the yield difference? I know light penetration will be much greater (less bottom fluff) and I'm increasing my light per Sq foot to 50 from 33.

Lol, Im in south Florida so I deal with heat a lot. Summers are tough but its 80 outside now and this is the time of year we love, its 90+ and 100% humidity for 8 months a year, thats tough to deal with. Tinker with your ducting and mount your fan as far down line as you can and its manageable. Yield is like anything else, just depends, I usually run short veg times and run 4 plants a time and shoot for 4 oz a plant, hit no less than 3.5 per and no more than 5.5. Im playing around this time and am doing a critical+ub style with a short veg and a blue og and a ultra sour topped ub style and then supercropped and then the 4 mains were topped again, those 2 have been veggin for 4 weeks today and will get 2-3 more before flip. I dont know if il go this route again or if il go back to my old ways but its fun and I will decide after flower.

I Know that yield is dependent on a ton of things. I'm pulling consistently 2-3 ounces for a 1-2 month veg in 3 gallon pots. It's strain dependent, some more some less. Just curious as to how it may aid in output. We shall see as soon as Amazon delivers.

Thanks again and ya heat must be a bitch for you.

edit I also know when I pull the plant that some are pot b bound. So I may veg less
