if you cover the rockwool and do not let light get to it.. the algae will die.. algae needs light..

Algae is not usually bad on the rockwool... It is bad if it gets on your stalk or in your reservoir... When it gets in your reservoir, it will begin to consume the vital oxygen... yikes... Do not water directly around your stalk/stem of your plant..
