This is my method
1 - grow some dank
2 - start cutting off branches from the bottom of the main stem, trimming all all the leaves off that branch, then hang it on a wire or string (I use clothes pins to attach to my string)
3 - continue all the way up the plant till you reach the cola, then cut your stem at that point and hang that from your wire/rod/string (old fashioned clothes drying wracks work). At this point all you will have is the main trunk, still in the pot.
You really should cut all the leaves off immediately, as the more wilted/dry they become the harder it is to do a nice trim.
As mentioned above, dry until the branches snap when bent. Jar it, check it every day (all you have to do is pop it, shake it, and when it stops popping, it will be perfect)
Drying racks work well on semi-dry bud, but on really fresh bud, the bud compacts and flattens out. After the bud is almost dry after hanging, then I cut the bud from the branches and finish the dry on a rack before jarring.
