Plant receives basic veg nutrients temp stays in between 72 and 78 I topped the plant and cut the lower fan leaves 3 days ago and I've noticed some concern. The plant has golden spots on some of the fan leaves ( I did spray a neem oil mixture a few days ago, I don't know if that would be it) and some leaves appear to be dying. The pictures will paint a better picture.

Terrible. Throw away.
Shut up some newbies will jump on that info in frustration and actually do it lol
That bad?!?!
No you're fine.
Just burns from the neem oil and light probably. Did you spray at night? Make sure you did the proper concentration?
Hard to tell from the pic, but looks like I wouldn't be doing defoliating yet, those lower fan leafs are still getting plenty of light probably.
How does the whole plant look? How old is it?

Some of the leaves appear to be shriveling, this is my first grow and honestly I didn't know a thing coming in, it's about 3 weeks now. Oil was properly mixed but I did spray it during the day....

looks more like a leaf problem than a plant problem
Why on earth were you spraying neem oil?
Edit: Welcome to RIU:leaf:

Too much wind maybe?

"Sometimes too high levels of wind can cause other unusual problems on the affected leaves, such as brown or bronze spots that almost look like burn marks. These are the result of the leaf not being able to fulfill all its normal processes. "

It is gross LOL
Smell taste all of it
Lol whats your point? You're not drinking it. And if you're not in flower, than you're not getting it on any buds.
Its just the oil of a seed from the neem tree.
Its one of the best, organic pesticides out there. It works amazing as a preventitive against all kinds of insects.
I use it atleast once every run as soon as I flip to 1212 to kill off any potential colonys starting.
After the stretch, there is no budsites with any neem oil on them.
As an extra precaution ill add 2-5 ladybugs per sqft as my preventitive in flower.
