Barry Cooper has some interesting and mostly valid information. However in this instance he's not totally correct. The undercover officer is expected to not partake of drugs or fake partaking if he can. But if he/she is in a situation that could possibly compromise the officer's safety then they can use. So a cop can take a bong hit and still be a cop.

Oh and when cop's lie it's called pretext not lying, ROFLMAO. I always found that funny.
