Being poor is not a medical condition. It is also not permanent. There is a cure. It is called employment!! 2 weeks after it happens you can be cured of poverty!!

I am seriously considering going to this and I dont go to movies. It looks pretty good from the trailer.

I don't hate rich people, and nothing I've posted on this forum would indicate otherwise

Many conservatives here have been pretty upfront about their hatred and disgust for poor people, just look a page or two back where ML called them worthless, it's not like they're trying to hide it

The conservative mindset seems to be to blame the poor for the worlds problems, which incidentally is consistent with GOP talking points...

Again... so weird how that happens all on it's own.. /s

You are lumping a lot of people in the conservative mindset.

I dont think I have blamed poor people for anything. Again, I blame the government for it's policies that trap people on welfare and encourage poverty.

You keep talking about the poor like a monolithic group of people that will never rise above their station and I see it as a bunch of individuals all with the potential to earn money. In my opinion your view of poor people is more offensive than mine.

We both agree with that, you just see the social safety net as a way for lazy people to stay poor instead of a way for poor people to climb the economic ladder. You're blaming all poor people for being lazy based on your own opinion of them, not what's factually correct (like the fact that more than half of them hold full time jobs)

Their policy successes have everything to do with reducing their own obligations to society and extracting more from it for themselves. There have been many. That's why our country is in such dire straits financially; too many wealthy people have used their economic and political power to take too much from even this vastly prosperous nation, parasitising the country and by extension everyone in it... even themselves!

Again, the health of the many or the nation as a whole is none of their concern; just the money, and closely held with it, the power.

Many studies have shown that rich people tend to be markedly more selfish than their peers of more modest means. There would be every reason to believe such attitudes would extend to all their affairs.

I did not use the word lazy, you did. Welfare traps people into poverty. Once you get on welfare if you get a job you lose your benefits. If you have income you lose your benefits. Basically to keep your benefits you have to remain poor.

Padwan, You cannot climb the economic ladder on a welfare payment...

Obama was supposed to be your savior. How much has he helped the black man in the last 7 years? How much has he helped the poor man? It is all just blah blah. They dont care about you, they uses you as a pawn, pushing you around the board. I am talking about both parties...
