If one of these things did happen to malfunction and start pumping water onto the floor... Goddamn that would be one hellof a mess! Other than that, looks cool.

if water pump stops water stops circulting an then you still have air pump to areate water standard (dwc) an then keep plants alive also you either raise your airpump to stop water flowing back or use check valves also use screens in pipes to stop roots flowing through to pump as someone said earlier that roots follow water flow you could use a t-piece in the connecting buckets or put a mesh guard round the inside of bucket an about the uniseals cracking an leaking how long do you suppose seals last 1,2,3 grows at a couple $ each not really an issue how many of you have to replace airstones or misters in your aero system how much for some of them misters what i am trying to say is uniseals an airstones would count as wear an tear maintanace nothing lasts for ever but say $20 a year for new seals an airstones is nothing

I believe the reason there is so much space designed into the Undercurrent system is that it is intended for use with vertical lighting. So if you put them closer together and go with traditional overhead lighting, you won't be able to grow really large plants that are well lighted (and budded) all the way to the base.
