That's right. It's really one fucked up dude with a multiple personality disorder logging in and out arguing with himself.
Actually, I was watching this clip of Chris Matthews, whom I despise, calling some Republican stooge a racist for some non racist remarks the republicans have been making.

As usual, Chris is way off base, but he did bring light to something that hadn't been on my radar. The Republicans do use language that is poll tested and proven to give people the impression that he is exotic and somehow not American. Calling Obamacare European (which it's not), cracking birther jokes, and pushing that phony welfare story are really not logical lines of attack. Especially when there are real issues you could attack him on.
Then I remembered Frank Luntz. He's a republican operative who polishes messages so that his clients can get their points across in fifteen second sound bites. Luntz shows that the meanings of words really don't matter, it's what people think they mean that matters. It's the feeling that the word gives someone that really matters. You wouldn't say Obamacare is Canadian or Scandinavian because that doesn't illicit as negative a response as calling it European. Of course, if one gave a fuck about accuracy, it really has little in common with any of those systems.
Now I look at all these pointless partisan arguments that seem to pop up all over this forum and so many of these comments can be scrutinized in the same light. I recently got into an argument about what "socialism" meant, about what a "free market" is and it turns out everybody has a different idea of what exactly those things are and they're actually all right. These are broad fucking words that cover a lot of fucking ideas. Look up the word "capitalism" and you'll find that there are a bunch of different types of capitalism and odds are everyone on this forum has a different idea of what it is.
So just consider that for a moment when you read some of these back and forths between some of these lefties and righties on this forum. Try to see past the poll tested words they use and figure out exactly what these guys are arguing for. I'll bet that they're not nearly as different as Luntz would have you believe.
And vote Gary Johnson 2012, beeyatch!
