Are you not getting what I was saying? I'm showing you how to simulate the nutramist...using cheaper mister, 2 gallon bucket and either outake in the table sucking air in or try an out take from the 2 gallon container side. I never said anything about the Nutramist.

How do you have an out take sucking air in?
 
Sorry I meant put a fan between the the table and the mister container sucking out, towards the table. Check it out, what about some sort of bathroom fan...they are or should be pretty tolerant of condesation.

Look, I could be totally wrong here but do you need the fan that is closest to the mister. It makes sense to me that that would compress the water vapor and make it condense. But if you just have the fan on the other end it would create a low pressure and keep the vapor from condensing as quickly. And if it condenses quickly it won't get as much of the vapor to the plants on the opposite end of the mister. But then again I am new to hydro. I probably don't know what I am talking about.

Place the fan behind the fog, not in front of it. All you need is one single fan pointed downward into your 2 gallon container, and raise the fan up a couple inches mounted on a pipe to avoid water damage . This will give your roots plenty of oxygen. Also, Gygax there is no need for a second fan pushing fog out of the root zone. The fog that is not absorbed by the roots will drip down the fill line into the res. Look at the picture.

yea gygax1974, munchbox is right man...


we would only need one fan pushing into the box to push out the fog.

if we was to put another fan on the flood table i think it would exhaust the fog and that is a big big big nono...

because if the fog were to escape, it could/would foilar feed the plants (possibly at a higher ppm or ec). Then i think we'd be in deep doo doo
because the plants may die
 
I'm sorry, I should have notated better in the pic, I'm saying use one fan not two, use the one furthest have it sucking the mist into the table and then just have a pipe or hose run it back to the mister container. Here's something I don't like about misters...they can overwater, so the mist is going to have to go somewhere anyway, if you just keep running mist into the table and have no way for it to dissapate you gonna kill your babies. Try doing a cloner and leave the mister running 24/7, the stems will be wet noodles in no time, use the bathroom fan like an inline have it suck from the far end of said table pulling air through it and then have the air go through the fan into a tube or hose running back to the mist container.so it's like recirculating mist. I'm sorry but I tend to DIY a bit much but I like to. And I don't mean to butt in, this is a good thread and I like to see what you guys do. Stoners ingenuity, how and why do you think they found fire...they had to light that caveman joint you know. good luck guys, like I said not to butt in but I like these threads plus I'm a mist guy myself.

That might work gygax. I'm not going to tell you it won't.But the thing about it is..... The idea is to have an air intake (oxygen) that pushes the fog to the roots. The way you have it set up is like a booster fan, there is no need for that extra hose leading around back to the fogger. If you want to regulate the ammount of mist that reaches the root zone and how fast it gets there then all you need is a variable speed fan. go here NUTRAMIST 12V DC Power Pack @ FUTUREGARDEN.COM these things are also sold at walmart cheap.
 
I think I have something like that, I did not realize you could set fan strength with that. I'm not an electrical person so excuse if this is a dumb question, but would that work with any fan. if there was a way to hook it up? Also I have something for that in my studio, it also has adjustable voltage and looks similar, I guess what I'm asking is are those universal? As long as the fan has an input like that to attach a plug it should work right? My unit was made specifically for different effects pedals for guitar and what not.

I see what you guys are getting at, and now that I napped I realized it's more ghetto and trouble then it's worth...although I might try it. I like to build little units anyway I can, I just did a 12 gallon wet dry vac aero mister bucket with a six inch cup supported by a plastic Xmas tree stand. the wet dry vac broke so i thought wow I wonder what I should do with it. I'll take some pics soon, it's pretty funny. But it's on wheels and it makes a great DWC aero mister unit.

Are you guys going to reveal the build when you're done cause I'd like to see it and how it works.
 
ok this thing. have a LOT of filters I can attach from HVLP paint sprayers
make it into a cloner.

and excuse me slow dial up and I have no idea how to run this chatt formatt
I tend to hide in the bushes and read more then talk

The power pack you have might work. Before i could tell you for sure i would need for you to tell me the transformer voltage and the wire voltage. make sure the voltage output on the power pack DOES NOT exceed the maximum allowed by the fan.(12v is plenty enouph) Try to find one that goes down to 3 volts like the one on nutramist models. ALSO you would need to cut the the power cord in order to make splice connections to your fan's power. Make your connections like this guy does. do not buy temp sensor fans.... like this guy TWIN TEMPERATURE SENSING 3" 80mm AQUARIUM COOLING FANS - eBay (item 160210207245 end time Feb-25-08 20:30:23 PST)

Why don't you just buy an ultrasonic fogger? they are cheaper, better,easier to use,MUCH easier to set up, maintain, and run more efficient. ( when it comes to cloning)
 
this is whats going on while I waite for the mailman to come with a package from 1/2 way around the world. But I really want to try an make a cloner and play first with the junk starts first.
