My Tax return is coming in and I need to upgrade ventilation. I'm looking at this UL 6" inline fan and Carbon Filter Combo from ebay for 209$ LINK HERE. Wanted to see if anyone has this set up and how quiet and well does it work? If not any recommendation on a filter and fan set up?

I got a phresh filter and fan from dchydro and it cost me about $170. I use a 4inch but they have 6 inch for cheap too. This is a generic fan on the website but it is actually made by hydrofarm and pretty quiet. http://www.dchydro.com/product/80/6-inch-In-Line-Fan-400-CFM/
AND http://www.dchydro.com/product/3015/Phresh-Filter-6-x-16-400-CFM/
Comes out to about 200 but this is just a sample of some of the combos there. They carry can 33 filters too for like 100 bucks. I have heard mixed reviews about the htgsupply filters. Remember, this is one area you may not want to skimp on. Good luck.

We got the 4" one off Ebay about a week ago, the filters in the room itself and its actually the loudest part, similar to the ballast (i want a digital sooo bad:leaf:). Outside the room it isnt heard. We hung the fan under our house from some beams and the only faint sound you can hear outside is the air flow, which im thinking may be quieter on a 6" vent. But its not very loud at all. Sorta sounds like the dishwasher is running. My hubby will be building a box around it today and from what ive read that should cut out the faint air flow sound completely. I think its a wise investment but i must say with our Bubblicious atleast you cant let it go off, the plants are sooo strong as soon as the fan goes off its minutes before i smell it. But thats fixed with a dimmer to slow the fan so it can be run (we dont need it wide open) all day.

Yes attic would be very idea, i couldnt imagine hearing ours at all if we could get it up there, our attic is too small. OH and use rubber washers when you mount it and make sure its tight, they vibrate hard if loose and thats very loud. Thanks for the rp :peace:

i built a box and put the fan in it lined the box with foam insulation then packed the fan in there and regular insulation around it and used insulated ducting all to reduce fan noise(cause it loud) as for filter works great i got 10 in any where from 4-7weeks and it absorbs all smells(15 on 45 off) and is used as a scrubber rite now need a y to duct into veg room(about 30 in there) and exhaust the rest well worth it and comes with outside filter sock and about the ballast i have a digital and with the built in fan it has its not to much quieter than an electronic when warmed up but the light is so much cleaner use ur cell phone camera to c the difference digital has no lines and the lines r what the plant see's
