Uhh white widow in week 9 of flower??

So I’ve got 2 white widow plants that are on week 9 going on week 10 of flower. FFOF nutrients FF trio nutrients 600w hid lamp, scrog.

It is like the growth has just stopped...I have no clue what is going on but nothing has changed in 2 weeks. The orange hair count has stalled and growth has stalled buds aren’t doing much and I’m in week 9 of flower so I’m just a little concerned something might be going on. She hasn’t really given the signs that say harvest I have 0 amber trichomes and like a 60/40 - 70/30, orange/white hairs. The hairs have been the same for the last 2 weeks..at the beginning of week 8 I started to do a water flush so the plants would start using the nutrients from the leaves like normal and it’s just stalled. I know there is a little nitro deficiency but shouldn’t have just halted growth or am I wrong?

Did the plant have any heat or light stress throughout its life cycle? Do you have an idea of ambient temp around main coal/top of canopy. What light are you using and how close is it ? Hps has given me issues with finishing before and it looked similar to this

Also bear in mind the name of the strain, white widow is called that for a reason. It often will have white hairs all the way till the end of its light cycle in my experience with it

It had light heat stress at the very beginning of flowering then I was able to address it. The temp around the nugs has been sitting 73-78 humidity stays between 35-40%. I’m using 600w HPS HID. Once this grow is finished I’m switching to that 600w pro led photontek or whatever it’s called.

I have a 1000w HPS that I use and have had the same thing happen. Seems to me that some plants just need some extra time. I'm sure there's environmental factors that can stunt them. However if you look around at a lot of the ARE MY PLANTS READY YET posts, you'll notice everyone thinks their plants should be ready sooner. That includes users of HPS and LED systems.

You’re not wrong there are a lot of those posts I just haven’t had a flower take 9 weeks and still look like it needs another 2 maybe even 3 weeks just wild to me so I wasn’t sure if there was something that could be causing it. But it make since that some plants just want to be grown longer. I’ve only ever use HPS/MH bulbs but I just got the photontek 600w pro led so I’m really curious to see what the differences are in growth with different lights. I am just patiently waiting for the signal to chop.

Ignore breeder guidelines entirely. 9 full weeks is a pretty early harvest. Over 12 is kind of long. Seems most strains want to go 70-84 days.

I think there may be some stunting due to heat stress, depending on how significant it was.
I have had this exact look and situation from hps heat and light stress. For me the white hairs didnt seem to mature and I said f*ck it after looking at the exact same thing for 2 weeks and hacked er down. Not recommending you do the same just sharing a similair experience.

I have this exact same look in my current grow. 1000w HPS turned to super lumens. Temps were always good though and the plant that showed the issue was always furthest from the light, as it's the shortest.

Could it be an issue elsewhere, or just the traits of the plant?

They look starved, or a stressor signaled senescence. From the little info, if they really haven't grown in the past 2 weeks... its possible you flushed to early, have serious nutrient lockout, are dealing with a pest or virus. I suggest dimming the light slightly to reduce stress. If it doesn't visibly grow in 1-3 days after fixing aforementioned issues, then something has signaled senescence; if that's the case harvest asap to prevent degradation

its called white widow b/c of the trichrome coverage and color, not the hairs fyi

Not trying to split hairs with you( pardon the pun) but I never directly said white widow came from the hairs, just that the strain is very white and in my experience with it I have had a higher ratio of white pistils then other strain. That being said, I never really knew the definitive reason for the name and always just assumed it was from its white appearance, Do you have anything that definitively pins it down? Because I always though the strains origins were unknown and I'd genuinely be interested In reading about it as i know I've enjoyed enough of it in my lifetime.

There are certain strains that have that "white" trichrome look, or even partially have it, that is a unique genetic trait. Strains like great white shark, alaskan thunderfuck, my bread and butter chernobyl has it a little bit; its just straight white sometimes covering large fan leaves. Since a REAL white widow always lookslike that when healthy, I heard the name came from that.

You stopped giving the plant nutrients and it stopped growing... hmmm......
