Uh what todo about this seed?

Ive never not had a seed germinate on their own. Seems like a pointless step to me. Only time i germinate in paper towel is if im buying reg seeds or bagseed so i dont waste a cube.
Always has worked for me... I just prefer to know where my tap root is so I can take it to soil with the tap down. I use gentle tweezers to do this. It's like doing 100 operations in an afternoon.... Yeah, I got that kind of time on my hands. We pay about $11 bucks a seed, so you gotta take the steps... but I don't really even like to run seeds... I prefer cloning, much more predictable. But!.. you gotta run the seeds to find the phenos, blah blah blah.

More often than not a seed will find its way. If youre that worried about orientation you can just plant pointy side up. I just feel moving from paper towel and then inserting is more dangerous than just planting the seed. Then again you may run into problems like this with my method. Out of 100s of seeds this is only the second time its happened.

That's why I find it interesting.

I think the shell got stuck on rockwool or it may have been too deep. ‍♂ either way i only need 8 out of 10 seeds to make it so if i lose 2 ill live.
I hear ya.... If it were me, I would have thrown it in the trash, but i run 100 at a time, so this will be fun to see if it makes it. I've had some that would not shed the shell, and I said fuck it, and let it go.... low and behold it broke through... and it was about 2 inches tall.

I used rapidrooter for clones but i like rockwool for seeds. Not sure why guess no point fixin it if it aint broken. These cubes had preset holes so not sure maybe it was too deep i usually make my own holes but i liked these cubes more. ‍♂ part of me wants to dig it out but part of me doesnt wanna risk it ‍♂
I think it got his shell stuck and it's growing face down ass up.

I mostly cloned with the little cubes,, but I always used macro plugs for seeds. I liked them because it was easy access to the roots. I always transplanted them into a 4x2 rockwool cubes, then into a coco or a rockwool slab or whatever I was using as the final medium.

I switched to Rapid Rooters before I realized I was planting the seeds too deeply. I may go back to the macro plugs, but out of 30 Rapid Rooter'd seeds I only lost two and both just failed to germinate. They seem to dry out really fast though. Next time I think I'm going to set them in a cloner controlled by one of these so that I don't over or underwater them.

Also i agree clones from here on out. Just need to make one a mother.
I'm in the same boat. I'm currently pheno hunting and can't wait to get back to cloning from a few reliable mothers. I have two more seeds runs and then I should be good until I get tired of smoking the same stains a few years from now.

I got a thermostat setup like that.. I think it's a 2x4ft... works great with RR.. just make sure the channels stay full, and dome it at 83ish degrees till you see roots, then start opening up some vents.

If they werent 10$ a seed id be more apt to throw it out ‍♂ i dont do bagseed or regseed only top end fems from trusted companies. Plus i need 8 of these to survive to be moved outside in june. Dont have time to clone them.

If you look close you can see the head of the seedling just sitting there it literally would take little effort to lift it out im debating

Be careful moving it, the little stem can be brittle. I would give it an opening to escape on its own and wait to see if it needs further assistance tomorrow.
