Ugly plants, underwatering? too many nutes? 6ft tall plants

I can not stress enough how these buggers dont seem to care about the light. 5 weeks ago the plants were apx 24" tall. Over night they would grow right up into the light and I would have to raise the light. Just the two plants, the one seems happy at her height and is growing full instead of upwards. The other two are about 6 feet tall now and can be 5" from the light and they still stretch, as another member on another post mentioned it is really odd that they keep growing past the light.

i would just flush and see how she is after a few days to a week and then do whats neccesary..

i dont understand as to why someone comes and reads somethin and then starts to insult peoples intelligence...im all up for being proven wrong, as u learn somethin new, but some peoples approach to that is pretty fucked up

good point but as explained above the nutes that are in the soil now are not being utlized becuase of his ph problem...this creats salt build up as u keep dumpong unused nutes into the medium...futher promoting the ph problem.. maybe his ph meter is reading acidic because of over nuting creating a lockout...so maybe all he needs is to flush...observe...and if problem is fixed slowly work his way bac up to orignal dosage of nutes...if its not fixed then the neccessary actions need to be taken to fix the problem..

true to a point my tap water was fine five years ago then the last two years my plants kept getting worse i changed soils checked and rechecked water schedules , i started having seeds fail to germ , then read my water quality report, ppm and ph were the problems , this is not true for everyone , it was in my case :peace:

My prognosis in order: Flush for 24hrs in pH'd reverse osmosis water, pH water to 5.8, Nutes at 1 EC, bend ladies, lower light 6 inches, add fan blowing between lights and plants top, use 20/4 light cycle. Anyone?

I didn't catch what you were using for your soil?

whats the RH when the lights are off ? to me it looks like leaves are over working. 1 600 watt is plenty for 3 plants. in my expierence when the lights are on its ok to have a little higher RH, but when the lights go off the RH should be around 45-50 or close. this will allow the stomata to do its regular thing. keep workin on those girls i luv northern lights my girlfriend and i did 30 in 3 gallon pots. they were a harder grow but it was well worth the fight good luck.

PH is only one of the most important factors in growing healthy plants.

if your not ammending your soil with lime when you transplant, you should be.

I suggest you get the book: Garden Saver handbook for Healthly plants: J.C. Stitch, Edited by Ed Rosenthal, Published by Quick American (www.quicktrading.com) This book has saved many of my Grows! Look on page 23, looks similair to your plants. Everyone has great suggestions, but everyone has different situations: Enviroment, nutrients, growing mediums, etc.. Its crazy every strain is so different, I have grown Northern lights and they are the bomb. Goodluck and happy growing.

i dont know maybe your lucky, have you grown multiple strains?

some are more forgivving, but with many strain PH is a must.

No its not that big of a deal!!!
only if you are crazy outta wack like 3.0 or 8.0 (just to throw out a few examples)
