None of you seem to be getting the point.
Government will always look for easy ways to do hard things. We will never be able to stop the government from intrusion into our private space even if there are laws against it. They will always promise to be fair and kind and upstanding in their actions.
The problem lies in the court's acceptance of evidence. So long as tainted evidence, gotten illegaly or even questionably is inadmissable in court, we are safe. What is happening is that SCOTUS is whittling away at this forbidden fruit set of laws. Thanks to the law abiding citizens who are "sick of criminals getting away on technicalities" and are unwilling to "penalize" the police by insisting that ill gotten evidence be thrown out, these sorts of tecniques will be put into more and more widespread use - why? because now it pays for "law enforcement" to break the law.
