I came across this today and it left me almost speechless. Definitely one of the most disturbing stories of the year. Their culture over their can't even be described as sick. More like pure demonic twisted evil. No wonder so many of our returning troops are messed up. I can't imagine knowing of such things going on and being told to 'look the other way' by my superiors.

Imagine if the catholic sexual abuse scandal was much more widespread and actually 'accepted' by society.

If this is true this is one of the most disgusting war stories I've heard in a long time ......there's no way I'd be able to stand around and watch that happend or even know it's going on .....for Christ sakes that kind of stuff is not even tolerated in our prisons by the prisoners here in the states.....pretty damn disgusting if this is a true piece of info you came across

Sadly it's not even really a war story. It's the accepted culture and way of life some middle eastern countries. It happened long before we arrived and will continue after we leave. I just find it particularly sad that our own government has turned a blind eye to this when we had the potential to do something about it.

Damn right they're sick. If someone hasn't figured out what's wrong with this sector of the Muslim sect, they're retarded. They also sexually abuse goats, gang rape style.

What's even sicker is our spineless Prez won't stand up to them.

Not relieving people of command for doing something about blatant child sex abuse would be a good start.

“The reason we were here is because we heard the terrible things the Taliban were doing to people, how they were taking away human rights,” said Dan Quinn, a former Special Forces captain who beat up an American-backed militia commander for keeping a boy chained to his bed as a sex slave. “But we were putting people into power who would do things that were worse than the Taliban did — that was something village elders voiced to me.”

The policy of instructing soldiers to ignore child sexual abuse by their Afghan allies is coming under new scrutiny, particularly as it emerges that service members like Captain Quinn have faced discipline, even career ruin, for disobeying it.

After the beating, the Army relieved Captain Quinn of his command and pulled him from Afghanistan. He has since left the military."

this is normal in their culture. Though the Taliban apparently tried to ban it and had some success but probably by doing punishments Americans wouldn't support.

Yeah molesting children is pretty much the top of the list when it comes to things that should be stopped and shouldn't be turned a blind eye towards ........sad thing is it's probably a small sight into what the taliban really does on a daily basis to there own people .....I know were there for what they did to us and the deserve to be reprimanded for that .....but as far as us saying were there to help those people to is obviously a line of bullshit just to make what were doing seem like a good idea for them living in that country ............don't get me wrong for what those basterds did to us is reason enough for me to go tune them fuckers up .....but let's not say were there to help them and watch little kids get abused like that and turn a blind eye to it .........just so everyone knows I absolutely respect and appreciate all our troops who fight for us present and past so any that might read this thank you very much and I have absolute respect for everything you went through and did and poor decisions being made by leaders does not effect the way I feel about sacrifices our soldiers make .....

Most civilized countries look down on the sexual abuse of children for good reason. It's incredibly psychologically damaging and leads to an unhealthy society full of perverted sickos who were likely abused as children themselves. Basically the cycle of sexual abuse just keeps going until somebody puts a stop to it. This isn't a difference of cultures. It's a good vs evil kinda thing. Sexually abusing children is wrong in any decent culture and should never be socially acceptable. There's no 'gray area' for this practice to fall into.
