I tied my plants down today, they have been in veg stage under 20/4 light cycle and are about 1.5ft tall, . My question is how long after tying them down should i switch to 12/12 light cycle?

Also i am using 2 48 inch fluorescent T8 32w philips lights, the plants seem to have reacted pretty well to the lights after switching from a cheap 2ft fluorescent grow light. Any comments or suggestions about these lights? i know i could invest in better lights but am looking for comments on the ones i have now.

You can tie them down whenever you want and as long as you want.

Switching to 12/12 doesn't mean much of anything as far training the plant.

Im asking how long after tying should i switch, does ther need to be a time for the plant to adjust etc,im still new to the process of tieing. Im thinking tieing down is similar to FIM where you need to allow the plant to grow in veg for a while after topping, does this same process apply to tieing?

Just like oldies back in the 1970's tho we used T12's T8's are similar but the hard core descendants are using the T5's, the more tubes the better, your first time get another pair of 'shoplight's a minimum of 4 tubes, all 2700k, but one at 6500k, leave in the center, this will be you budding rack, whilst the vegging rack should be all 6500k but one in the center at 2700k, keep a small fan in there as plants breathe too, hang the tubes on chains and adjust daily, keep within 2 inches of the tips, if you are gonna stick with T8's or T5's removes all lower foilage, as the lights just won't reach there, THINK ABOUT THAT as you are just wasting your time with these lights and tying them down ...baby your lumens won't reach that far ....outside or HPS yes ....not with T8's or T5's ....Sorry! budget 1 month veg and 2 month bud, regardless or just go autos

Thank you, Will placeing the lights closer to the plants have a positive impact as far as lumens reaching all areas of the plant. they dont put out much heat.
