Two lights, two hoods. Which for which?

600 watt and a 400 watt. I got an HTG airflow 26x20 inch vented hood and a cool tube from htg with the 2 inch or so wings.

Tents. Flower=4x4x6
veg =3x2x5

plants= 3-4 in flower in seven gallons of soil. Trees vegged two months.
= 4 in veg. One gallon bags then 7 gallon bags for 2 months.

I have the big airflow on the 600. It has an eight in fan. It cools but I am disapointed. I notice the cool tube cools way more effiently. I would like it cooler in the flower tent.

I was wondering in any one had any similiar experience with hoods and lights and placing the cooltube on the 600 would be worth it. It is a loss of relfected lumens but I cant tell how much. since I hang the bulb up 12 inchs or so I wonder if the angle of the cool tube would cover the airlfows size anyway.

any ideas. this just ocured. The cool tube is cool. The airflow I cant tell the diference between the 6 in fan or the 8 in fan. lol. wierd.
air is coming but I want that heat gone from under the bulb. I know fans shud do it.

how do you have the exhaust hooked up? for instance is the aircooled hood setup like outside air-ducting-hood-fan-outside? do you have a carbon filter attatched>? i use HTG easycool 6's and to be honest my first ones were very good, but the order after that i had to tape all the edges of the hoods, major air leaks. the cool tube is definitly going to cool easier since its smaller in cubic inches and a straight run, i dont think you need an 8inch fan since i can cool 400's and 600's with a cheap 250cfm duct fan, matter of fact i have no problems cooling 4 x 600's in a row with one 424cfm growbright fan, my cooling goes like outside air-fan blowing-duct-hood-back outside

I have charcoal filters set up and they run past an ozone filter that heads outside. So pulls thru the tent and has the fan on the tents roof and throws it out.

Might have leaks. It is 800 cfm tho. That should keep the glass cool I would think. But does not on a 600. Does on 400.

Wow, I have always needed big inlines. A 400 duct fan was a joke. Lolm yu are lucky.

Big Question: Do yu think the cool tube has an area any size of the airflow? If it does maybe I will just sell the airflow and buy another cooltube. After all one day I want a vertical like the Heaths pound trees! lol, anyway.

Any expereince with the area of the cool tube. I am trying mylight meter now. But it is one of those cheap 15 dollar ones and it only works for a few mintues then needs a few weeks to recharge. I will try it out and post. :)

lol, I may have something. I have been reading benvegas's thread and also doing some online shopping and for 140 or so I can get the icebox, another 30 a pump and then use some frozen applejuice bottles I can cool the outake of the cooltubed 400 and then have that hooked up to the intake of the 600 tent. Lol, they are right next to each other and that would be perfect. It might work to just leave the hoods and instead of jacking up the air use one of these. Sounds fun at least.

Or/and the 8 in cool tube might be fun to try. Looks like bigger wings.

try having the fan suck through the hood instead of push through it, i just made the switch and it cools better

Yeah both mine do that. Also the fan pulls thru the filter. I used to push thru the filter but I changed it for some reason. Works. Perhaps if I change it and use it as a muffler I will get results. Also If it does not have to prefilter the air cool! I just had a possible idea, an eppph something.

I also use my fan to vacuum the air out of my hood and, then out of the room. I havent tried forcing air through it to cool it...
