Two colas without topping?

How often does a plant grow two colas without being topped? My wife is growing a plant under a desk lamp which has just started early flowering, she never topped it since she wanted a small plant but still it grew out two colas on its own.

Too add to the weirdness of the double cola the plant also began growing 3 leaves per node after the second node and sometimes even 4, most of the extra leaves ive been clipping off to help get light down to the other branches.

I love a deformed plant, some of my best have been the retarded one's :hump:

Above the 3rd node it looks like a double main which forked forming a crotch. Interesting. I had a tri-leaf before which I don't think was due to stress it had 3 cotyledons and produced 3 sets of leaves and branches at every node for its whole life. Your wife's plant looks healthy enough I would just get it out from under that desk lamp and under something stronger.

I had one do this last week. It had 4 fan leaves at the junction. It ended up being a male which sucked cause I really wanted to see what it looked like flowering.

3 cotyledons is a genetic mutation which is different than the plant growing new 3 set leaves due to stress

Just posting a little update on my mutant, shes well into flowering now, lots of nice budlets forming so far and lots of good trichome production early on.

Just cut some if the bigger fan leaves a couple days ago and can already see the difference now.

Cool little mutation you have! My clone did the same thing. She self topped after I topped her. She now only has 3 bladed leaves. Strange what plants do!

I moved it out from under the desk lamp which has a single LED 10.5 wt bulb just over a week ago, i just put one of my smaller plants under it for now.

Both my wifes plant and my own are under single 24w cfls.

I dont think i mentioned on this thread but all my plants growing right now were all 12/12 from seed experiments.
